And without Hatton,Mayweather would go back to drawing 375k numbers as opposed to the million plus he did with Oscar. With Ricky on board, this fight is going to do more numbers than any of Floyd's fights except the Oscar fight.
Remember,Floyd was practically begging Oscar for a fight, calling him out since he was down at 135/40. Oscar WANTS Hatton himself. That tells me alot about Hatton's drawing power.
Its a sad part of boxing that a fighters drawing power is more important than his abilitiy in the ring.
It is, which is why Calzaghe took the Manfredo fight. However, Hatton's ring ability is world class.Quote:

Floyd is pretty well know these days and it from him going out his way to be a boy scout either. So do yourself a favor Hatton may be a God in Manchester but he hasnt done dick in the US besides beat an over the hill Castillo, FACT!!!!Quote:

But in all fairness if you ask the boxing fans and the boxers who is the man at 140 they say ricky hatton
Theyr not against addmitting it, Even paulie malignaggi will admit it and hes one of the top guys at 140
Everyone admits hatton is a great fighter, i dont think its his aim to get on the letterman show or none of that..
I dont think he owes floyd a thing apart from a beating
All he can thank floyd for is the money that no one can deny he is bringing to the table in this fight
Imo floyd doesnt make the money on his own.. Its just hes business smart when it comes to boxing and he matches himself up well with other guys, It just intrigues really..
And at the end of the day thats boxing smart ;) :)
I dont hate floyd, I sometimes dislike him but respect him.. I think everybody has pretty much that view..
Maybe expect my man danny g..Lol
Mayweather could have had his pick of the fighters at WW or LM. After any big fight in the lower weight classes Floyd is the first name on their lips. He was coming off a De La Hoya victory and everyone wants to get some of the cash that he brings to the table. From 140-154 Floyd is the biggest name out there period. I will agree Gatti brought Floyd the exposure but to a certain extent the way Floyd completely owned his a** put him where he is today. I dont understand why people diss Floyd for the way he is outside the ring, Mike Tyson raped women and got in street brawls but he was loved more for it. In the ring Floyd is a amazing judge him purely on that. He's been in one bad fight against Baldomir the rest have been either exciting middle of the ring battles or high quality technical masterclasses if you cant appreciate that you shouldnt be a boxing fan.
Mayweather couldn't have done it on his own either. Hatton is helping Floyd here too. It's a 2 way street. Do you think people would pay money to watch Floyd sit in an empty ring?Quote:

And like others have said, who can Floyd fight that would elevate his PPV numbers above the 375k other than Hatton?Fact is,they are both helping each other.
