Floyd couldn't get 10,000 fans to see him fight in Grand Rapids, let alone come halfway across the world to watch him fight. Why do you think Oscar wants to fight him? There are few fighters available that have that sort of following. So next time you start a thread bitching that Hatton is a nobody, remember the US aint the only country in the world.

Well i just watched the 24/7 build up on SKY , and i have to say for all his boxing talent , Mayweather (if that is his true persona) is a total and utter a.s.s.h.o.le WITH zero CLASS out side the ring and i hope if not by Hatton but someone, he gets his face punched in. he is a total disgrace to the memory of fighters such as SRR ETC.

And without Hatton,Mayweather would go back to drawing 375k numbers as opposed to the million plus he did with Oscar.With Ricky on board,this fight is going to do more numbers than any of Floyd's fights except the Oscar fight.
Remember,Floyd was practically begging Oscar for a fight,calling him out since he was down at 135/40. Oscar WANTS Hatton himself.That tells me alot about Hatton's drawing power.

Imo floyd doesnt make the money on his own.. Its just hes business smart when it comes to boxing and he matches himself up well with other guys, It just intrigues really..

Mayweather could have had his pick of the fighters at WW or LM. After any big fight in the lower weight classes Floyd is the first name on their lips. He was coming off a De La Hoya victory and everyone wants to get some of the cash that he brings to the table. From 140-154 Floyd is the biggest name out there period. I will agree Gatti brought Floyd the exposure but to a certain extent the way Floyd completely owned his a** put him where he is today. I dont understand why people diss Floyd for the way he is outside the ring, Mike Tyson raped women and got in street brawls but he was loved more for it. In the ring Floyd is a amazing judge him purely on that. He's been in one bad fight against Baldomir the rest have been either exciting middle of the ring battles or high quality technical masterclasses if you cant appreciate that you shouldnt be a boxing fan.

Mayweather couldn't have done it on his own either. Hatton is helping Floyd here too. It's a 2 way street. Do you think people would pay money to watch Floyd sit in an empty ring?

JT,I know what you are saying about the Hatton-Oscar fight but I can see it coming off. Oscar would weight drain himself to make some $$$,definitely.And if he couldn't,I pretty darn sure Hatton would add weight to make 154,heck wouldn't you to fight the golden cash cow of boxing?
And like others have said,who can Floyd fight that would elevate his PPV numbers above the 375k other than Hatton?Fact is,they are both helping each other.
