It wasnt clean on either side, but
A)Ricky was being way dirtier

Hatton initiated it more but floyd done his share of holding to nd as for the rest i agree with wot u said in the other thread floyd done it slighly nd hatton was obvious. The punch that he got a point deduction for did actualy his the rope but hatton still did hit him in the back of the head through out the fight.
Re: Elbows are blatant fouls and yet Floyd was allowed to use it all night long.
4real calm down.
Cortez did warn Mayweather for the elbows, don't recall what round. Mayweather was cleverly turning side on thus offering a smaller target. It isn't his fault if Hatton walks square on or doesn't move to the side to hit, this happened a lot when he backed up to the ropes.
Re: Elbows are blatant fouls and yet Floyd was allowed to use it all night long.
Hopkins kept diving out of his seat gesturing his elbow to Cortez ;D
Re: Elbows are blatant fouls and yet Floyd was allowed to use it all night long.
Yeah. Hopkins. Probably the 2nd dirtiest fighter of recent years. Next to Holyfield.
Re: Elbows are blatant fouls and yet Floyd was allowed to use it all night long.
Cortez did a horrible job, and im very surprised.
As an american i can honestly say i was hoping for hatton to send floyds head in the concession stand to shut him and his uncle up. But, stepping outside the box I was disgusted at how much floyd got away with. The ducking below the waist line, the turning away from hatton, the elbows..
Someone here said that floyd got warned about the elbows, but ricky got no chance on the rabbit punch. I'm not saying ricky didn't do his fair share of holding and what not. But come on, from the first round it appeared that cortez was going on what he heard about these fighters (or seen)rather than what he was seeing real time. He was warning ricky on holding in the 2nd n 3rd round at times when ricky wasn't even holding.
Now, i dont believe a competent ref would of changed the outcome 100%. Ricky lost his cool, ricky got discouraged and being a professional boxer he should of controlled himself. I believe this would of saved him from the point deduction, and possibly the K.O. However between the favoritism from cortez, the elbows from floyd, and not having the fight go the way he planned, the frustration beat him, not floyd.
Cortez lost alot of his credibility IMO on saturday, and i would love to see the same fight in the U.K.

Hatton doesn't fight squeaky clean himself he damn near pushed floyd through the ring and hit him in the back of the head himself, point is hatton lost doesn't matter how anymore, hatton did really really well and has nothing to be ashamed of, he doesn't need a bunch of excuses he'll still have a loss on his record when it's all said and done. I for one like hatton and give no excuses for him just like wouldn't have if he won and besides he doesn't need them.

it wasnt a clean fight from either, Ricky got beat at his own game plain and simple as you can see above Cortez didnt change the result.
No one is complaining except Floyd haters and disgruntled Hatton Fans

I will reply to Missy. How many times does a ref have to warn some one about Elbows?
Cortez warned Floyd on every round.
Hatton's blow to the so called back of the head when Floyd ducked below waist to avoid Hatton? The blow never even landed. It was a bogus point deduction. Did you watch the fight more than once? I have watched it 3 times already. Most fights I debate I watch over and over again and then I post videos clips to prove what I am debating. Do you need me to post it and show you it did not land?
Missy do you need me to post how many times Floyd used the elbow? Do you need me to post how many times Floyd was warned and how many times he was not warned even though Joe was standing right there seeing the elbows? I am going to work on this video a little later.
Re: Elbows are blatant fouls and yet Floyd was allowed to use it all night long.
Joe Cortez bummed Floyd that night, end of.

You have none. That is not Miguel Cotto up there. That is a 140 Midget. Don't ever forget it lest you be confused and think Floyd beat a real welter weight fighter. This is someone who sucks at 147 and he did pretty good. Just think what a true 147 pounder would do. A Welter weight fighter who has been proven and has not been chased out there twice.
Pointless video monkey man.
Cotto at 147 would drop Hatton in 5. Cotto has always shown he can do more to an opponent than Floyd can.

Floyd need all that help from the ref and then all those elbows. Then to top it off, they make up a point deduction for hitting in the back of the head when the punch never even landed. Let me show that video clip so people can stop saying that it was a valid point deduction. I feel bad for Ricky because too much frustration took him out of his game. I was not even in the fight and I was very frustrated and agravated. With all these odds against Ricky, I honestly don't see many people beating Floyd. Some one needs to investigate Joe Cortez. I think they should start with his bank records. I have never seen a fighter after a match hug up on a ref like Floyd was doing with Cortez. This made Joe nervous and I think he was afraid people would catch on. Did you see Joe's face? He is like get off me man, you are blowing my cover.
