Fighting Sharmba Mitchell instead of Mosely is fight dodging.
Jumping through the weight divisions avioding the best in the divisions is fight dodging. Plain and simple.

Mayweather fought his first fight at Welterweight on November 2005, Mosley's last fight at Welterweight was September 2005, he moved up to Lightmiddleweight after his fight with Cruz.

Are you going to tell me these are not good opponents ?? and just for the record there isn't anyone near Mayweather's skill level in Welterweight division.
Finito, many of those fights were LONG AGO, and as Floyd has climbed the weights, his level of competition has not been as consistent as when he was below 140. And as I said, I don't remember many with Floyd's skills, but the fighters I mentioned (Margarito, Mosley, Williams, and Cotto) certainly have better skills that Baldomir, Gatti, Mitchell, Brusseles, wouldn't you say? And you can't claim no one in the welterweight division has the skill level of Floyd unless you put them in the ring with him to prove it, correct?Quote:

You know, I respect Mayweather and all, but that statement is just troll bait. Mayweather proved his worth at Lightweight and lower, and i consider him an ATG at those weight classes.
As of now, he has not even proven he is the best at welterweight, his current weight class. Selective opponent picking and fighting guys unproven in that given weight class will never sway my opinion. You have to be realistic, step back and take a good look at the picture here.
When you got guys like Cotto, Williams, Margarito, who have proven to be the current hard fighters at that division, completely getting ignored, it will raise eyebrows. I call bullshit when he claims it is all business and he will only fight guys who can raise the gate as he is more than willing to Mix in the Baldomir's, Mitchell's, and others far past their prime. How is a true fight fan supposed to interpret this?
Could Mayweather beat Cotto, Williams or Margarito? He is so skilled he very well could. When he slips away from those guys though, you will see that he will not go into a fight that is a huge risk. It has nothing to do with finances, as he could fight Butterbean and it would create a huge gate, simply because he is fighting.
I'll rank him as great for his earlier accomplishments, but in it's current state, I will need a lot more convincing. As of right now i consider him an incredibly gifted fighter who kicks ass. I just want to see some real ass kicked!!
