Nice set up for your fish Rains', very nice!!
Re: Attn: Lefty Lee, pics for you
Thanks bro, how much did it cost you to get that albino cobra? I have no experience in keeping snakes but they are very interesting pets. i doubt I will ever keep snakes cause my snake like fish are enough for me. Anyways how much did she cost you? shes a real beauty.
Re: Attn: Lefty Lee, pics for you
She cost $350. I can buy a puff adder for $60, and it's one of the last snakes you want to get bit by{kills more people in Africa every year then any other snake}.The venomous snakes are cheap, but what costs is good cage set ups for them. Plus, it's really hard to buy them as most sellers are very particular who they sell to. They are trying to ban them in alot of states. Sometimes a ninny head will get his hands on one and then get bit and put in the hospital or killed, so it gets the government all crazy.
It's a crazy hobby, but very fun and it's always interesting matching wits every day with an animal that can kill you. Here's a site to a guy who is well known in the herp community. He is still in the hospital as he got tagged by an eastern diamondback rattlesnake a few weeks ago. He almost died, but he is getting out this weekend from what I hear. He has been bitten by some of the worst snakes in the world, like 50 times, but keeps doing it.

Re: Attn: Lefty Lee, pics for you
I have three younger brothers. They too attempt to eat each other if I don't feed them regularly.
The youngest is very snappy and possesses very sharp teeth (they need them in the jungle you know) Thankfully he's not venomous and usually he's kept in like with a stick.
The middle one is by far the most demanding in terms of food and I feed him primarily on red meat and fibrous vegetables. Being a mongrel I find him aggresive and it is best to keep him away from the others.
The eldest is the easiest to maintain, it's funny he almost thinks he's human, but again a stick is always at hand to keep him in line.

yea, he comes right up to the glass when someone or something approaches his tank. As if to tell off everyone not to touch his tank. I've fed him almost everything, shrimps, mouse even other fishes. He shreds them apart or sometimes swallow it whole.
haha yea fish do shyt, thats why cleaning their tank is important. The more a fish eat, the more they shyt.

My cobras are elapids, and all elapids have very fast metabolisms, so they sh#t all the f#cking time. And they piss and sh#t together, so it's like an explosion when it comes. Very gross and the one part of keeping them I hate as I'm a neat freak and I'm constantly cleaning turdpiss ;D It's fun watching them feed though. Mostly I feed defrosted rats, but earlier today I fed a couple of live rats. A VERY impressive display of hunter/hunted and killing power. That venom potent ;)

Bro, i was at the pet store earlier today. I was looking at some snakes they had, not sure what kinds they were but they were all small in size and very affordable. I stood there glaring at them for half an hour thinking to myself should i try and keep one.......I wanted to but I decided I would read more about in keeping snakes before I jump into buying one. I wouldn't want to waste a life of another creature becuase of my poor judgement.
Yea man I feed my predator fish little rats too, its kinda cruel but i try to convince myself that the rat is important for my fish to eat in a healthy way. The rat can actually swim up til my fish sees it and shreds it to pieces.
