The source that's there says Ring Mag. but unless they can add a scanned copy of it how do you know it's accurate?
The fight was close early but in the middle rounds Sal was working welll.
The ending of the fight was good but Sals lead was to good and well ahed by then.
I'm working on several things right now for the holidays plus I'm also working on Barrios-Freitas for you but when I get the chance I'll get this one for you to see for yourself. ;)
Im massive Sanchez fan as you know Mick, and i would love to see the fight myself and judge so thank you very much for that Mick. And when i do finally get round to watching it i will make a thread and give you my score card.
CC Mick i owe you about 100 ;D

What do you think now about my assesment in regards to the Lopez vs. Alvares I fight?
You've seen that fight before right?
Can you believe judge Conde?
Re: A Fighter That Went Through There Whole Career Without Getting Gift Decision
And quickly while were on the subject Mick, did you see Sanchez's only loss vs Antonio Becerra ?? i see that was only SD so it looks like it could of gone either way.

Terrible judging Mick a disgrace, i thought the fight was very close and i felt Lopez just edged it by 1 round. Its been quite awhile since i've seen it but i think Dalby Shirley had it spot on i believe he had the bout even if i remember right ?? but i don't think Lopez got a gift like Majesty suggested. To my knowledge i think Rosendo Alvarez vs Ricardo Lopez was one of the biggest Minimum Weight fights of all time.
Re: A Fighter That Went Through There Whole Career Without Getting Gift Decision ??
Carlos Maussa
his devastating KO power meant that the judges were hardly ever needed.

Highlights only but I wouldn't fully comment much on the decision.
From what I saw it was back and forth highlights again Sals punches looked harder and cleaner but from what they showed on Becerra it looked like he was gettin in some big shots here and there.

Spot on, on the decision. By any means was it a gift.....
The 1st fight was a really good one. Defintely one of the best.
Re: A Fighter That Went Through There Whole Career Without Getting Gift Decision ??
Interesting topic...
I saw Tyson named earlier, and that definitely seems right. I can't think of a Tyson win that was close at all.
Off the top of my head, I can't think of any Pacquiao fights where there's been a gift decision.
Winky's never gotten a gift either.

He got that gift draw though.

Roy arguably got a gift in Tarver 1. He just won the last 30 seconds of every round.

I had Pacquiao winning by a point. That fight was too close to be a gift for either side.
Re: A Fighter That Went Through There Whole Career Without Getting Gift Decision ??
Most fighters, really... I mean the word gift means that one fighter was absolutely robbed, no doubt about it. Floyd Mayweather has never been given a gift decision... His first fight with Castillo was very close and many thought he lost, but it's not like there's no way anyone could score it for Floyd.. By that basis it would be harder to name elite fighters which have been given gift decisions than those who haven't... Tyson obviously hasn't, Lennox Lewis was never given a gift, Roy Jones, Whittaker. Casamayor until his last fight had never had a bad decision go his way, imo.. How about Emanuel Augustus.. He basically never won a single close fight he was in, certainly didn't get any gifts.. James Toney apparently was given one early in his career against a guy name Tiberi.. I never saw that, but if it was a gift it's the only one he's gotten.. Glen Johnson, Tarver, Calzaghe, Eubank, Benn... Imo it's actually very rare that you find a fighter who wins more than one or two questionable decisions over there career, let alone gifts... The few who have had the judges favour them consistently are actually pretty easy to name... DLH(Sturm fight was a gift, some say Quartey, but it was way too close to be called even a bad decision). The one guy who really stands out is Sven Ottke. I can't think of any other fighter who has been given wins on multiple occasions where he was almost certainly beaten.. There's the REid fight, which is probably the worst, but also against Brewer, Mitchell, and probably more that I'm not thinking of.

Are you sure you meant to say Roy only fought the last 30 seconds of each round, and not Tarver ??? I felt almost the opposite of what you said is true.. And that certainly wasn't a gift, just much closer than a typical Roy Jones fight at that point.

far too close, the word gift gets thrown around too much. I had Pac winning too.
Unless you think the Winky fight was a gift-which is really stretching it- then I can't remember Hopkins having a gift win. The Winky fight was at best questionable and most people had Hopkins winning.
Re: A Fighter That Went Through There Whole Career Without Getting Gift Decision ??
pacquioa, fact of the day kid...pac has only gotten one decision in the states the rest by knock outs. his only decision was outboxing mab in the second fight and that sure as hell aint no gift decision ;)
