Re: Equipment, Training Gear and Advice.
Hi Trueno, here's my list of my boxing gear-
For my Brain I bought an "Everlast Headgear" its the best!(great vision and cheek protection model# 4020)
For my Teeth I used a Regulation Approved Everlast mouth piece(difficult to breath with this mouthpiece for me)
For my Hands I use 180" Everlast Handwraps(long enough to wrap my hands threw each knuckle) as opposed to just around your hand.
For Gloves I use 3 pairs of real leather gloves(Twins 16 0z, ProForce 160z, Century Gloves) The "Twins" gloves feel the best to me.
For my Nuts I bought a "Select Brand No Foul Protector" some issues with it... been hit low and hurts when my nuts get rattled in the cup(usually only when the cup gets shifted from a low punch) my advice get a custom fitted one if you can afford it. Mine has a velcro patch instead of lace up in rear.
For my Feet, I use "Select Brand" boxing boots(these boots will work great if you have narrow feet) Cruiser
Re: Equipment, Training Gear and Advice.
Winning is expensive and they really don't care what you think about that but their head gear is terrific and many guys that spar hard use them. I would say watch the thumb in your sparring gloves, that's where I see the most injuries. Also I would get a good lace up sparring glove and a bag glove that protects your hands well. I think Title's gel gloves are a good, reasonably priced bag glove. Grant pro sparring gloves are good. I know that a lot of sparring gloves today have that bulky cuff at the wrist but we just don't like them much. Definitely the 180" Mexican wraps on the bag but maybe a taped thumb (at least) when sparring.
