He should fight thaxton next as its the next logical step in his carrer, by the end of 2008 i predict you will see Kahn winning a world title!
When your as hyped as Con has been (and he's been hyped) your expected to move at an accelerated pace
How do you rate him VD?
Re: Khan: Where's Thaxton?

Undecided. He's an outstanding talent. No doubt. The skills are there. But his defense is weak. And his chin seems to be weaker. I want to see him step up the competition. And no I didn't consider Earl to be a step up. Pretty much if Con was not as hyped as he has been I would look at him as a great prospect. But since he has been hyped, I expect more from him at a quicker pace.
Re: Khan: Where's Thaxton?
yeh but its hardly his fault he's bin hyped, he's just the kid who's had to deal with it..
Bar one knock down, he's looked great..
Every fighter has their moment, and hopefully he's learned from it, thats what its all about.
Re: Khan: Where's Thaxton?
VD id Kahn know in the US as being this great prospect with great skills?
I heard Don King and Manny Stuart have both been bigging him up!

It's the price of fame. Rather he wanted them or not. And I believe he did, The expectations are there. Now meet them.

ah well you rate him higher than i expected.
i think offensively he is brilliant, defensively not so great.
i really feel he needs to boycott fighting the european style of fighter and fight some tough south american styles and some technically sound north american fighters.
i expected him to KO earl....not that quickly mind, but i stil expected it.

He hasnt done anything to stop the hype. Amir has already said how he is going to be a mulit weight champ, and a top P4P guy. If thats not hyping yourself up then what is?
Re: Khan: Where's Thaxton?
what do u want him to say??
I hope i loose a few fights and never become champ? ;D

That's about as complementary I've seen VD been about a fighter, he must be doing something right. I agree, he needs a serious tough opponent next someone who can take his shots, but not necasarily a dangerous opponent , he's still learning. I don't think Thaxton's the guy to do it, I'd expect Khan to go through him by the middle rounds, plus Khan has a point, I was expecting some sort of comment from Thaxton in the media by now.
Re: Khan: Where's Thaxton?
its got to be said he's now operating above British level, but theres no need to rush him

The point is he said he was gonna do these things. He didnt say 'I hope to one day be a multiweight champ', he said 'I am gonna be a multiweight champ'. If thats not asking for hype what is?
