Re: Time to stop running, Big Dan
.....Jermain Taylor squeaks by Spinks and Ouma and people give him a ton of shit and Floyd Mayweather is troubled by Ricky Hatton and all of a sudden "it's time to give Floyd his due"
.......Floyd is a GREAT fighter don't get me wrong, and I am no Hatton nut hugger, I just figure there is some kind of wicked double standard here.

Mayweather was troubled by Hatton?

Yes....my scorecard had Floyd up by 1 round.....as for the efficiency of Floyd's punches, he could have just thrown 4 punches one round and landed 2 of them....doesn't mean his defense was as good as usual, or his ring generalship was as good as usual, or that he landed the cleaner more effective punches (which he usually did but they came later in the fight.....but they surely counted in my book).
To this point I am not so sure what to think of the fight....did Floyd allow for Ricky to fight his fight only to humiliate him later on OR did Ricky just do a good job of pressuring Floyd?
Floyd is still a great boxer but fighting Ricky Hatton never seemed to me to be as big of a challenge as fighting Miguel Cotto.....I don't mind it and I can fault him but I am still wondering if Floyd just handicapped the fight or he actually had trouble.....Floyd didn't run as much that's for sure but it just sort of gets my mind working on it because he looked FAAAAAAR from spectacular in the early to middle rounds, rounds 8 and 9 he looked very good, like he should have the entire fight.

Where u even watching the same fight? Ricky won 3 rounds at best and got KTFO in 10. Hardly a super hard night for Floyd. To compare that to the Spinks v Taylor fight is completely ludicrous. Floyd dominated Ricky, probably more than anyone predicted. You need to have another look at the fight i feel. Maybe with your anti-floyd glasses off.

Hatton landed flush about 5 or 6 times the whole fight. He landed only 18% of his punches. I think Mayweather defense was outstanding. But the point of this thread is not to give Mayweather his due. It's about one poster (Big Dan) who ran his mouth a lot before the fight to give Mayweather his due.

I wouldn't have given Hatton a single round, he maybe scored a couple even's but that was it.
As for Dan's disappearance, before the fight he was getting on his moral highhorse saying that people who wanted Floyd to win were showing their true colours as supporters of evil.
Now the righteous and honest Ricky Hatton has been ktfo by the antichrist loud mouth braggard his whole world has probably turned upside down.
I think he was expecting God's judgement on Floyd for his wickedness but instead he blessed him with his best KO ever and the new most popular avatar on the internet ^-^

Nah Matthew is a natural welterweight and Ricky has always had trouble with bald fighters :P
Re: Time to stop running, Big Dan
....well if Ricky is so shit then why couldn't Mayweather whip his ass faster? And if Floyd is so freaking good why doesn't he get a belt at middleweight or better yet UNIFY ONE DIVISION HE SETS FOOT IN?
I don't doubt Floyd's ability but to say he breezed through a fight with Hatton is just as ridiculous as saying he breezed through the fight vs Oscar....he had trouble with both of them....no not like the Castillo fight but he didn't have an easy go of it....he didn't dominate them the way he dominated Corrales!
And yes I watched the entire fight and Floyd's inability to land serious punches or avoidance of landing hard punches until later in the fight cost him. Ricky won most rounds on my scorecard on ring generalship (controlling the pace) and effective aggression (ie he made Mayweather fight his fight)....or Floyd just decided not to fight his own fight...either way he didn't impress me as he has in the past.
I'm not saying Rick was whipping his ass but Ricky was winning rounds and he was in the fight until he got rocked with that one solid right cross...and he pressed too hard after the foul. I still had Ricky down by 1 round going into the 10th

Well u scored it the same as all the other Floyd haters then, and comppletely different to all the experts. You must be right...... Floyd beat Hatton as easy as anyone could expect to beat another top ten P4P fighter similiar in weight.
Re: Time to stop running, Big Dan
What the fuck is wrong with you muthafuckas? This thread ain't about how close Mayweather-Hatton was. It's about Dan getting his ass in here and giving Mayweather his due for whipping his boys ass. So get that other nonsense out my thread
Re: Time to stop running, Big Dan
Man VD how much did he talk i never even read any of dan stuff must jsut said he thought Hatton win that aint that bad.

were you blind folded and listening to HBO when you scored the fight? ... Now I don't feel bad you thought Oscar-Mayweather was close because you obviously don't know how to score a Mayweather fight even if its so obviously in his favor.
