Re: Haye to fight Hasim Rahman in March
he threw everthing but the kitchen sink at Thompson,he was inexpereinced and wanted a knock out against a very experience ex champion. He was unlucky and young but if he fought him again right now, Haye would stop him, simple as. Hes getting better each fight and has enough stamina to knock out Rahman!
Re: Haye to fight Hasim Rahman in March
Good choice for Haye. Rahman is still decent when in shape. Should be a good test for him

I don't think much of Haye, Mormeck had haye in all kinds of trouble at times. Haye is lucky the guy is 35.
If you talk about Hayes stamina being a problem take a second and think about these plus 30's he's fighting. LOL

And 41 Carl Thompson knocked him out.
Mormeck won the title off the best Cruiserweight in the world at that time O'Neil Bell. Plus Mormeck hits hard there is no shame in getting rocked by Cruiserweight World Champion. Haye but have some flaws but he has good boxing skills and crushing power, in 2005 i predicted Haye would be world Champion in 2 years and i was right.
Thompson was 40 not 41 not that it really matters but Haye threw everything but kitchen sink at Thompson. He battered him from pillar to post i don't know how Thompson survived but even though Thompson was old he is durable and a good opponent, but Haye losing to Mormeck was blessing in disguise because it has made him a better fighter.
Never thought much of Oleg i see him get crushed by Lance Whitaker in 4 i see him get crushed by Kirk Johnson in 2. Oleg is mediocre his punches are so damn slow its unbelievable he will get crushed by Haye.

Oleg may be mediocre but he's stil a world champ in today's era. As for Rahman he was unlucky not to beat James Toney, and has been competitive with most oppponent's he has faced.
He's looked poor in recent outings but surely this will be one fight he is capable of getting up for.
Neither man has great stamina but Rahman has a proven chin at this weight whilst the doubts still remain about Haye.
I honestly see this as a pick em fight. Haye has the speed and skills edge, power is going to be a toss up.
It all depends on who comes in in the best shape and in that regard you'd have to favour Haye.
Still you HAVE to give Haye credit for this. People knocking him saying this isn't a big deal have to realise that our geniune heavyweights Skelton, Harrison, Gammer etc havn't EVER fought an opponent of this calibre and Haye is going to do it in only his second heavyweight fight.
He immediately joins Danny Williams as the only one of our heavies to have ever faced world class opposition and that IS a big step.
If Skelton pulls off the upset and beats Chagaev it could be possible that he defends against Haye and Haye could be world champ by this time next year. Stranger things have happened.

Is that really saying much ?? going even with blown up Middleweight who looks like beached whale ?? the only reason Toney is even competing at Heavyweight because of how weak the division is.
He's looked poor in recent outings but surely this will be one fight he is capable of getting up for.
He has always looked poor, well actually i will be fair he has had goodish performances but thats it. Even when he beat Lewis i wasn't impressed to be honest.

Yes but Haye has much better variety of skills than slow plodding Rahman.
I honestly see this as a pick em fight. Haye has the speed and skills edge, power is going to be a toss up.
I give all the advantages to Haye by a mile except chin, power.

Yep agreed here Bilbo Haye puts Skelton, Harrison, etc all to shame.

Hasim Rahman had a Closely scored fight against Oleg Maskaev current WBC.
You mean the same Maskaev who had everyone from Heavy to featherweight trying to fight him when he won the title.
Re: Haye to fight Hasim Rahman in March
He can stop Rahman, but he will have to be very smart a box flawlessly especially in the first few rounds. If he doesnt keep his defence tight Rahman can end the fight with one punch. Rahman is pretty bad but he is a vereran and he knows how to sneak punches in, plus he is a good puncher. I think if Haye utilizes his fotwork and straight punches he cand tire out the plodding Rahman and stop him in the middle rounds or take him to a decision.
Re: Haye to fight Hasim Rahman in March
I agree with your post boom boom. but Haye has what it takes to beat Rahman. I think haye will be fully up for this one and will expect anything from Rahman, unlike Lewis in their first fight. Haye will win this, im certain.

Yeah I think you may be correct. Rahman had his hands full in his last fight with Lawrence because Zuris hand and footspeed was keeping him a step ahead much of the time. Haye will probably stick and move putting fast combos toghether to get the victory. It could be a big boost for Haye into the division.
Re: Haye to fight Hasim Rahman in March
Hasim Rahman has so far rejected the £150,000 offered to him to fight in England. He wants more money if he's going to travel.
Maybe he realises it will be a retirement check when Haye takes off his head.
Re: Haye to fight Hasim Rahman in March
I would want more money to take a beating off Haye. His clubbing right hands will be enough to end Rahman for sure.

that would be Rahman, he is slow and as soon as Haye lands a big shot he wouldnt throw back. He wouldnt last too long IMO.
**** i kinda messed that up a bit, but someone please sort it for me ;D
Re: Haye to fight Hasim Rahman in March
He is former heavyweight champ he is ranked number 3 by WBC which with a victory would put Haye in a great spot i think to come to uk Rahman deserves at least $750,000 the fight would be big in uk off the back of Hayes world title win.

Wow, Haye you devil! You're really letting it all hang out!
Haye will knock him out in 3 or 4 and get the whole of the UK hyped on how Haye is better than Lewis because Lewis took 5 rounds to K.O Hasim and lost once, only to be dissapointed when someone fresh exposes old glass jaw for what he is.
Oh come on mate your going over the top here. Yes Rahman is on the slide but he is decent opponent, and Haye needs to work his way up to get a shot at Heavyweight title, you can't expect him just to jump right in with the big boys straight away.
Thats not my point buddy, I completely understand that he has to work his way up but I just hate his attitude and the bullshit he feeds people. I mean does anybody here think he's crazy for taking on Rahman? He chats shit
Re: Haye to fight Hasim Rahman in March
It is a good choice of opponent, Haye could get in trouble here but he will probably be too quick for hasim.
I think it wont take long to see Hayes frailtys exposed at heavy, Mormeck did hardly anything in there fight.
Haye just hasnt got the tools to live with any fresh young fighters, he is too robotic, that being said, the top fighters at heavy arent that quick so although I dont like Haye as a fighter, unless someone lands on him he will do ok at heavy, he needs to learn how to be a bit busier with his jab otherwise someone will walk through him, hasim will try it
