It was Grebs only victory in 5 meetings with Stylist and smooth boxing Tunney but Tunney was pulverized in a relentless drubbing,His only lose.
Nice topic Daxx
Gotta say I am partial to some of those old time fights myself....I would have liked to see Gene in the ring...Just to find out in person how good he was....For some reason even though I never met him I always disliked him :-\...I was a big fan of Dempsey as a kid...My Dad had met him and in an auction he had gotten a hand written invatation by Dempsey for his resturant opening in the city...There were tons of the prints out there but this was handwritten by Dempsey himself to some big business owner named Earl...the front was the print but Jack had wrote himself on back and signed it....
I thought it was the greatest thing in the world...so hated Gene for beating Jack lol...
Crazy I know considering it was about 60 yrs before I was even born but I was a kid.....

As a somewhat new boxing fan (been into it for a couple of years) I'd have to choose Corrales - Castillo I. Diego was one of my favorite boxers, RIP.

I was there - fantastic fight ...... but there was something evil in the air that night. I have never been in a crowd that was so pissed up and bloodthirsty, there were at least 10 fights before the actual fight and you always knew something bad was going to happen, whether inside or outside the ring.
Re: If there was 1 fight you wish you could have attended in History which one?
Castillo Corrales 1 and Morales Barerra 1:have given me amazing memories the COUNTLESS times I've watched them on tv,would love to have been there live.
Old time fights: Rafael Bazooka Limon v Bobby Chacon,I get goosebumps watching their fight, think it was the third or fourth, have not seen it in a while but I've never seen such back and forth action.
A Sugar Ray fight at WW so I could see the greatest fighter ever in his prime.
Any of Ali's big fights, for obvious reasons.
The first ever recorded boxing clip:James J Corbett I think?1894? Just would love to have been there to see this. A piece of history!
A Mike Tyson fight in his prime. Listen,at this time,I see Mike as one of the most fearsome fighters ever. I would ove to have seen him and his ferocious power in action live.
Awesome thread. I couild go on forever!
