There are a few, but the biggest names I can think of is Winky Wright and Bernard Hopkins.
Their hole fight and the months leading to it were a complete waist of My time Your Time and Their time. What the hell were they fighting for anyway.
Doesn't it mean somethink when the Universally recognized 175lb champion has no title? Hopkins should've taken on some other champion at 175 and fought Calzaghe and/or Jones instead of waisint time with Winky.
As for Wright, he should've stayed at 160, taken a title from Sturm or Abraham and he would've been in negotiations with Pavlik for another title shot.
Carlos Quintana was also very inactive for a contender. He only fought once this year. Some rankings already have Joel Julio ahead of him, the guy he beat soundly. Glad he's getting another title shot, but it would've helped him if he had been more active. Then again, who knows how much time he needed off after the Cotto fight.
Agree about Williams. He has been managed so poorly. After a magnificent victory over Margarito we have to wait 7 months for a fight with Carlos Quintana ::** So disappointing.
I can understand Williams but remember he was depending on that match with Cintron, and him being unify in the best weight class in today boxing would draw some more better fights for him

Well I expect to be killed for my mention of Pac, but how does one retain being the Peoples Champ fighting an old Barrera and an untested despite nice record in Jorge Solis? This is not a slight on his ability as a fighter so please do not steer of the heading of this title. Lucky the JMM fight is set for 2008.Quote:
