I would never want to see Cotto fight Paul Williams. The reach advantage is almost mortifying.
Cotto vs Cintron? Reach or no reach...I want to see that one happen.
I'm confident that Cotto would handle him in devastating fashion.
I don't know...something about Paul Williams just really REALLY scares the dog shit outta me when pitted up against my favorite fighters.
Re: Paul Williams wants Shane Mosley after Quintana.
Being a Tall Paul fan it seem that we are in the take what we can get realm of fights. So i guess Mosley will have to do for now. Mosley is tough, not a pushover fight. Seems Tall Paul will have to wait until he is 40 to get a Title fight against one of the big boys. I see him being relagated to beating Berto and the up in coming fighters. The Big boys will use him as a reflection Champ. To get to us u must beat Paul first. At the same time they will not give Paul a chance. Hopefully they will be shamed into giving him a chance. Avoid him like the plague is the tone here. Must we BEG for a fight. SHAMEFUL. Please, Please,Please. DAMN.

Quite simply...it aint that simple.
That's why they have mandatory challenges & that's why he will either prove himself or the doubts will be proven.
That being said...while I do believe that Williams is an avoided combatant...I don't see him as being the "boogeyman" that you believe him to be.
Re: Paul Williams wants Shane Mosley after Quintana.
Does'nt anybody understand what im saying forget all his great achievements i know how good he was and who he beat what im saying is he is 36 now his best days are behind him he is a fading force at Welter people are now calling him out because of his name and how good it will look on there records.

Mosley would still beat most of the Welterweights except Mayweather, Williams, Cotto, and maybe Margarito. But the others he beats handily.

So in your own words your saying he can't beat the best anymore so as i say he just going to become a big name on fighters records.

To be honest my man,I don't see anyone rushing to fight PW:Cintron/Judah/Cotto and a few others were offered a fight and not only did they decline and not only that but he is not even mentioned by those guys. That's saying something. And to be honest,I don't blame them, like I said before,100 punches per round, ridiculously long reach, jab and speed. He has a middleweight frame,a HW's reach and is fighting at WW.
Re: Paul Williams wants Shane Mosley after Quintana.
This is a pretty good fight, Shane will have to get in range but if he gets there he should be able to land with his quickness and Paul's somewhat sketchy defense. And Paul won't hurt Shane, it will just be a question of if Williams output will be enough.
Anyway Williams needs a big fight soon, at some point he's not gonna be able to make 147 and he's gonna have to move up and start fighting people that are at least reasonably close to his own size.
Re: Paul Williams wants Shane Mosley after Quintana.
I spoke to Tall Paul once when he fought a cat from my home town name T.heat Caurthan. Paul understands his advantage. He told me, These little guys dont have a chance in beating me. THEY JUST DONT HAVE ENOUGH. I spare with Glen Johnson on the regular. He can barely hurt me so what make you think these little cats can. Watch what I do to these top level WW. then he walked and turned back and said, Your boy Heat Caurthan aint got a chance, Too little. I believe him now, he planning on holding that weight for 3 more years. Its the money weight class, why move up when he can make the weight. By the way last year I was ranked 157 in the super ww class so I do know about this game. Not a champ but a good trainer.
Re: Paul Williams wants Shane Mosley after Quintana.
I am sure Shane Mosley will be thrilled by this, he will get another title shot
Re: Paul Williams wants Shane Mosley after Quintana.
I think Mosley would whip him. And IF he is looking past Quintana, who throws a ton of punches himself and is quite awkard, then Quintana may beat him as well. Williams does not have the punch to KO Quintana early IMO, and thus it will be a tough fight for him. Plus I think Quintana took this fight for a reason, he has something to prove after that embarassing loss to Cotto.
Re: Paul Williams wants Shane Mosley after Quintana.
Props to Paul for calling him out, but I don't think it's a good decision right now. One, Quintana is a tough fight for him. Two, Mosley only loses fights on game plan breakdowns, not skill or power or speed. He made Cotto back up for half the fight, walked through his best shots, and hurt him several times. He lost a points decision, but in reality he beat up Cotto. Just like the second ODH fight. You could have given the points to ODH but Shane beat him down. Same with Cotto. He beat him up, put him on his bike and made the puncher become the boxer because he was losing the punching game. Shane is a monster for anyone, even if Paul won a decision based on his activity, he would get his arse beat. No joke. Even Winky in the second fight took a beating in my opinion, Shane just didn't have enough pop to one punch ko people at that weight and he was fighting like he has one punch power. But he hurt Winky and moved forward the whole fight against the bigger man. Shane doesn't care about the score so much, he just wants to fight and is willing to take their punches to give his own. His style doesn't suit his strengths as much, but damn you gotta love a guy that fights like that. He could easily outbox and win safe decisions but he comes to fight. It would be a great fight and PW might win the battle but lose the war. Shane whoops him and gives away a point victory by not dodging a single punch, just walking through them to deliver his own.

What the fuk? Who wants to be a guy that "beats people up" but loses decisions all the time?! I don't think that is Shane's mindset. I think he comes to win and fights in the manner that will give him the best chance to come out with the W. He likes to break fighters down yeah, but his goal is not to beat them up and lose rounds and not care that he loses. He'd have a lot more Losses and a lot less Wins if that were the case.
Re: Paul Williams wants Shane Mosley after Quintana.
One thing about Shane, he won't duck anybody. If he plans to continue fighting, I don't see him backing down from Williams for a second. Thing is, though, it's a stylistic mismatch for Shane, similar to what he faced versus Forrest, but probably even worse. Remember that Mosely's most natural weight is 135; Williams probably wins fairly handedly. Honestly, I don't see anyone beating Williams at 147. Too many physical advantages. The best chance would be Cintron or Margarito only because they are big welters with a heavy punch. He already beat Margarito, so if he and Cintron ever get it on, I honestly think that will be his toughest test at 147. The other top guys just don't have the physical makeup to pull it off. As Wacko said, the reach advantage he has over Cotto is ridiculous. If Margarito, a big welter at 5'11", had trouble getting inside Williams, how is Cotto going to do it? Williams is being ducked for now because he isn't a big enough name yet, but provided he can continue to make 147 he'll get his shot eventually at the big names.
