Re: Would Paulie Malignaggi benefit from changing his trainers
I don't think that a change of trainer would be entirely out of the question for Malignaggi, who knows, it could really help him. But I feel Roger Maywether is all wrong for him.
I feel to benefit properly from Roger's training the fighter must be with him from day one as the Maywether style involves a unique type of movement a unique shell and even unique punches and combinations. So I feel that Paulie wouldn't suit Roger and vice-versa.
With Floyd Sr. he took on BCD. Chad showed great improvements, but left because he didn't like the way he was trained and was uncomfortable with the style. Guzman suited Floyd Sr. in that he had a similar style already to the Maywethers. The same cannot be said for Paulie. He's very orthodox.

CC's back....I was just thinking that Paulie talks so fast at times and Roger...well he has that secret Mayweather language only him and SR know....
In all hinesty without kidding...both are great talents...Paul as a fighter,,,Roger as a trainer but as a team..I just don't know....
You have to be willing to listen to your trainer and trust him completely...especially a new trainer because if you are with a new trainer it is obvious you feel you needed one and choose this person for a reason....You choose them now you have to trust them enough to allow them to run the show....
The trainer on the other hand has to be willing to make changes but not totally revamp the fighter..(unless it is a guy who has lost his last 10 or something like that).....they need to make changes but keep the style that suits the fighter...while adjusting it to improve....
Roger would want to remake Malignaggi and that would not be nesseccary....Paul would noty be to keen on that
