He should keep his title, fulfill his mandatory and then maybe unify.
And I'd like to add there were posters here saying Margarito needs to get in line for Cotto.WTF are they going to say about Cintron?Marg won his last fight impressively,KTFO Cintron, lost narrowly to Paul and beat Clottey.
I agree with you El Gamo it looks very strange, that Cintron said he couldn't fight Williams because he has an injury. But then he will fight Cotto ?? and what i don't understand about this is that i give Cintron a better chance against Williams than against Cotto.

Totally agree and i think Margarito is possibly one of the worst style match ups for Cotto, Margarito has the chin to take Cotto's shots, he has good power, enough power to shake up Cotto. And he is a very big Welterweight and it would be a 50-50 fight IMO, i think Cotto would have to use his boxing skills against Margarito.

If this does happen you'd have to give Cotto major credit for taking on Zab Judah, Shane Mosely and then Kermit Cintron in straight succession.
He's laying down the gauntlet to Floyd now that's for sure!
Yep totally agree Bilbo and not too long ago people were calling Cotto. Chinny, No Boxing Skills, Robotic, etc. Now look what he has achieved in the last 1 and a half. He is one of the top P4P fighters in the world, has wins over Judah, Quintana, Mosley, Cotto has progressed very fast and im very impressed with him but i always have been, he has shown good boxing skills throughout his career. And i also like what Cotto's doing now by staying active and forcing a fight with Mayweather unlike some other fighters who could take a page out of Cotto's book.

Cintron needs to fight Clottey, Williams, or Margarito again, even before he deserves this shot.
He's another world champ what more does he need to do to 'deserve' his shot?
Who did he beat to become "world" champ? The guy left the ring crying in his only major test. I'm not saying it wouldn't be an interesting fight, but I'd rather see Cotto fight Williams, Margarito, or even Clottey. Once again Cintron might have to vacate so he will not even be a champion unless they can get Clottey to step aside. I just don't really see the point in this fight especially if Cintron vacates. Even when Cotto beat Quintana for the vacant strap I was happy for the guy, but at that time I didn't consider him an elite WW just yet. Bottom line titles are a dime a dozen and just because Cintron has one doesn't make him elite by any means. I was hoping Cintron got over the hump, but in the Feliciano fight it looked like he had another emotional breakdown to go along with his hand injury. ;) :'(
It doesn't matter who Cintron won the title off, its still a belt Cotto can pick up plus he is staying busy and forcing a fight with Mayweather. I mean would you be more happy if he fought Alfonso Gomez ?? because thats even more of a lose/lose situation for Cotto. Cintron is one of the Top Welterweights at the moment he has good power and this is very good match up IMO there is no way this one can't be exciting, i expect Cotto to be wobbled a few times, but when Cotto starts to warm up he will start to dishearten Cintron round about the 4th round with his constant pressure and body shots. I expect Cotto to win this one round about 7 or 8 rounds.

Cotto vs Cintron = bloody thrashing. I think we know who will be on the receiving end.
