How did Dusty become a star? I just watched the clips and think she's just like a cruise ship singer.

In fact she looks more like a television news presenter performing for Comic Relief or Children in Need than a modern popstar.

I have to say music has moved on. Even some of the X Factor girls are better than her.

On the whole I avoid female singer songwriters as they are usually shit, but I quite liked that Adelle song posted by Big H earlier in this thread. I had never heard of her before reading through this thread.

I can't stand Amy Winehouse who has been mentioned by others. I just don't understand the appeal with that one.
