I voted for Wright...but it'd be a split decision, IWHO.
Wright's got too good of a defense & he's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to skilled for Pavlik.
I love KP & all that...but Wright's a HOF'er & Pavlik is still unproven against marquee talent.
If Wright can Old school off the backfoot regardless of size as opposed to walk forward Immitation Slugger,He can exploit Pavliks second thought Defense.
ANd I had him wiing that fight vs Bhop by 1 roundQuote:

Pavlik via stoppage. Too big,way way too strong and relentless. And as the JT fight showed, you need more than ajab too keep him off. Anyone who stands directly in front of Kelly Pavlik at 160 is getting knocked out. Winky is no exception.
His rangy jab and right hand are going to bust Winky's arms. He has awesome body shots and he can get the uppercut through Wright's guard. I just don't see how Wright is going to be able to stand there for 12 rounds and block allllll of Kelly's bombs. No way. Taylor stunned Winky a few times and was backing him up even when Winky was blocking,Pavlik hits harder than JT and there are more coming.
No doubt in my mind whatsoever,Kelly beats the heck out of Wright and wins via stoppage or wide UD.
Finally we agree, Cool Click. Good points.Quote:

With DLH abandoning ship to fight at 150, Karmazin having just been soundly beaten and CORY SPINKS seen as the leading man :o Do you guys think, that if Winky can make the weight comfortably he could, potentially, clear the division?
Winky could easily clean up 154,but he can't make weight. And there are not alot of big fights there. Spinks,Forrest would be decent,Alcine,Simms,Santos,he doesn't want to and is not going to fight guys like that so I don't think, even if he could make the weight, that he would come back.
I understand Gamo.Quote:

The reason I enquired is I wonder too with Judah tesing the waters, will we see an influx of 147 fighters into the jr Midles? Paul Willams will end up there for sure, Margarito would be quite succesful too....Do they represent potential future fights?
Well WInky is old now,and like I've said before,he made the foolish move of going to 170 to fight B Hop. He probably finds t hard to shift the weight as easily as he could before and I know Wright does weights. Well, some of the 14 pounders will move to 154 eventually but certainly no any time soon. Why should they:147 is blossoming and there are plenty of big fights there. Williams will one day outgrow the division as will Tony. Cintron is a big 147 pounder,Zab I don't think will stay at 54 permanently and I think one day,in 2-3 years,Cotto will be at 154 too. It's a long way away yet though.Just my opinion of ourse.Quote:

As for Winky, well I've always known he was a natural fighter and fought where he felt comfortable, but I feel 154 is not out of the question for him even in this advanced stage of his career, proper training and nutrition should allow him to make it.
Pavlik ends it under 7 rounds. Wright retires.
Wright by wide UD. Already have a sig bet on the nod.
