Re: GRRRR:OSCAR DeLa Hoya sickens me
I read what gary Shaw said and I disagreed. I understand what you're saying Gamo, but when a fight is made, it's gotta be announced sometime, and the limelight will be taken away from someone no matter when its announced. Anyone with half a brain knows the importance of this weekend.
Does this mean you'd be pissed a Trinidad for turning up at the Cotto-Mosley fight and constantly jumping on a chair every time they mentioned his fight with Jones? Promotion is promotion...and if it generates interest in boxing, who the fuck cares?

THe Golden boy argument, as per Dan Rafael of ESPN.COm/Boxing is that 1) the press conference was schedule by the facility, not golden boy, 2) Golden boy promotes Vasquez and has a financial interest in him, accordingly a substantial part of the press conference was devoted to hyping the Vasquez fight, and 3)The fight is not on pay per view, so there is no concern over pay per view buys(which is the reason the promoter pay eachother the courtesy of not trying to steal the limelight of a fight that is about to happen).
