And Wright knew Hopkins was a dirty fighter coming in & couldn't do anything against it! Hopkins is a genius!!!

Hopkins dominated Wright down the stretch. Wright's jab was ineffectual! His defense was punched through, around or timed brilliantly! Wright also looked unbalance & amateurish.
Agree completely. It wasn't a pretty fight, and it was difficult to score, but Hopkins took away Wrights best weapons and definetly made the fight much harder on him than it was on himself, which is what he does best. I also believe Winky should have been much higher than #5 going into that fight. The thought that Jermain Taylor and Ricky Hatton may have been above him p4p makes me queezy.

Calzaghe isn't a natural light heavyweight, but an unbeaten Calzaghe is a tougher challenge than any 175 pounder out there. I think Hopkins is a worthy light heavyweight champ.
If Hopkins beats Calzaghe and wants to keep fighting at 175, and Dawson beats Johnson, then Hopkins-Dawson would be a legit fight.
Sorry Pea but i slightly disagree Calzaghe has to kill himself to make 168, he said he could move up to 175 easily. So i would say he is a natural 175 fighter easily IMO.
Re: While everyones been jumping on Floyd some sneaky bastage has flown under the rad
LOL,I cant argue for either side of this debate..I dont like either guys ring tactics or actual fight history. They both have manipulated their way thru divisions, belts and rankings. The one difference is that Hopkins, although not always as strong a paper resume, did completely clean out his division for the vast majority before moving up. They both have awesome talents I have to concur but that doesn't in any way mean I will respect them as a fighter. I do prefer Hopkins over Mayweather. That Winky fight was the biggest turn away for me since Wright is my favorite guy and has always been overlooked,under-rated and robbed a few times of what he deserves.
Hopkins is at least fighting on a regular card while Mayweather is fighting that PPV crap...again. Yes,marketability has some involvement there but their whole intentions were to create that in the first place. I don't blame Floyd for "avoiding" Cotto. Cotto hasn't tried all that hard to pursue the fight IMO. It is a fight that SHOULD happen now instead of later when everyone can use the excuse of age or have a chance at Cotto losing a belt before he gets his shot. Floyd won't be around much longer and Mosley is showing interest in him too. Financially, being a GBP fighter,Moslery would be able to provide the best$$$ which is BS.

Pretty much
Cotto/Mayweather's the biggest fight in boxing bar none so of course people are going to be screaming about it.
Personally I don't care if they build Mayweather/Cotto up for a while and I won't say Mayweather's ducking Cotto for at least another year or so but I don't see the comparison here.

that division isn't as good as the welterweight or atleast not as popular any longer.
bhop still is fighting great competition and not for money unlike floyd.
bhop vs joe isn't even ppv so thats a clear indicate that these two are fighting for history and better legacy not money. Unlike against oscar who is only for $$$$
Bhop defeated LHW undisputed champ Tarver! the man that beat the man (roy jones)
Winky even though was smaller than bhop only because bhop has move up to LW, but bhop and winky just months before there fight were basically both middleweights.
And Bhop is fighting Calzagne. enough said.
these three consecutive oppenents for bhop is a lot better then floyds whole career. plus their division is far different, if LHW was a stack division then I'd be moaning about bhop defending too, but yet since he is fighting p4p fighters I can't say shyt.
NOTE: BHOP KO'D OSCAR, FLOYD WON STD.oops i mean sd ;D
Rains Winky was NOT rated p4p 2 in the world when he fought Bhop
Floyd, Pacquaio, BHop, JM Marquez, R Marquez and Jermain Taylor were all above Winky, possible Ricky Hatton as well.
Winky was at the bottom end of the p4p rankings
how the hell did winky drop from second to the bottom then? he was on my p4p list as second when bhop fought him.
He wasn't bottom, Ring mag had him at 5. The rankings were:
Floyd
Pac
Rafa
JMM
Winky
Re: While everyones been jumping on Floyd some sneaky bastage has flown under the rad
I would have actually thought that Winky would have been top two-three, bit surprised by that. Definitely nowhere near bottom half. I mean a majority of fans thought he beat Taylor, at least that's how it seemed, I definitely did, and he might not have looked amazing against Ike but he clearly won. Surprised he was behind JMM and Rafa.

Boxing is rough sometimes, you either get rough back or get roughed up! Wright got roughed up. Winky was saying right up til the fight that Hopkins was a dirty fighter so it shouldn't have been a surprise to him. He should have had a plan to counter act it... he didn't! It's the refs job to monitor that side of things, Wright job was to fight.
