I'm very confident that Lee can finish off Vera this time around.
Me too, it was a mistake in strategy on Lee and Steward's part.
I think this is what added up to defeat for Andy Lee
#1 Andy Lee's early knockdown of Vera aided his ego too much and he tried too hard for the big KO
#2 Manny's lack of success with Pryor Jr. in a more difficult than anticipated undercard fight
#3 Andy Lee being more willing to engage in toe to toe/punch for punch exchanges rather than just boxing.
#4 Vera didn't get distracted at all he did what worked and kept at it. He got to the inside and let his hands go.
#5 Lee didn't figure out that his power didn't hurt Vera until it was waaaay too late and Lee had (as Billy Conn put it) "got his Irish up" and started to brawl.
Andy just needs to fight smarter and be more effective with his defense
According to a report in Dan Rafael's Notebook today, there will be no rematch. Jeff Wald says that he is looking at other fights for Vera.

It's the only time I've seen Lee (+ one knockout on youtube), he seemed to think he was a puncher and was expecing an early night IMO, throwing single shots and admiring his own work before making an effort to get out of range. He'll need to work on his stamina and footwork before the rematch or he'll be pulled into a brawl again, he looked tired half way through the 4th. He also looked dry, not properly warmed up maybe at the start.
From that fight alone he looked anything but the world beater Manny proclaimed, however I'll reserve judgement til I see if he can make the changes for the rematch. I don't think all the talk Manny made before the fight helped, defo gave him overconfidence.
To be honest I'm quite pleased by this. The Lee camp only want a rematch so they can knock Vera out and earn a quick redemption. Nothing wrong with that but Vera has his own interests to look out for.
If I was Vera's management I'd avoid Andy Lee for sure, he won't win again imo and instead go after a fight with John Duddy, Paul Smith, Peter Manfredo or Joey Spina.
All tough but potentiall winnable fights and they would all have popular crowd support.
