Mix em up to body and head, keep the arms moving and hopeful the Tarver demons he suffered vs Hopkins will come back to haunt him .

If i was advising Clinton Woods how to beat Taver , well its simple it would be BEAT HIM TO DEATH as he is an anoying jumped up fuckwit of a human being , a total boil on the butt of mankind.

No contest - Interesting I agree with most of it but dont you think the pressure from Woods should come late instead of early ? Tarver will be gassing out later and if Woods turens up the heat then , it could swing his way. I see what you mean about pot shotting but if Wods applies pressure early theres more chance of him tasting that left hand like Jones did. If Woods is careful early then puts on the pressure I think its better than walking onto counters while Tarver is fresh then backing off when Tarver is tired .

Since the great tarver says his style is so advanced that it is hard for judges appreciate use that against him, pressure and try and steal rounds. Do the b-hop stay competitive and safe for two minutes then let the hands go toward the end of the round. Also keep your hands up tarver doesn't always put his all into all his punches but it's hard to tell the difference, stick to the basics and don't anticipate too much.

Yea even though i don't think Woods is great by any means he is still a solid fighter, he has a lot of heart, and he is tough and keeps coming. If this was a few years ago then i would have picked Tarver without hesitation. But Tarver has looked garbage in his last few fights and to be honest he has looked like a shot fighter for quite a long time, so yes im picking Woods.

Woods allegedly is a better fighter than he was when RJJ beat him. I hadn't seen him before that and I haven't seen him since. That being said, the Tarver formula is simple: pressure and negate the left hook. If Woods can make Tarver burn himself out he can beat him. Tarver beat Glenn Johnson (effectively) with pitty-pat shots and playing keepaway. Woods needs to step inside the reach of those long arms and make him work to get him off. Dig to Tarver's body frequently and the Magic Man will look more like Merlin as the fight goes on.

The reasoning is that Tarver doesn't overdo it early, he paces himself early so to tire him out you gotta get him to up his workrate to keep up on the scorecard, and if Woods can win some early rounds that way Tarver may open up more to compensate. If he can be up going into the late rounds then start the potshotting.
