KO-ing Gomez is very impressive considering Peter Manfredo a natural middleweight didn't even hurt Gomez.
I say Floyd Mayweather Jr. will wait to see who wins a Cotto-Margarito matchup to make his move....if Cotto wins by KO I figure Floyd will retire or he'd be better off retiring.
I don't see that at all. Mayorga who is a bigger version of Margarito was absolutely TKFO by Oscar De La HOya, the first time anybody to my knowledge did that with headshots against Ricardo, but Mayweather wasn't scared at all to face Oscar who is very dangerous puncher. I mean Margarito used to be one of Oscar's sparring partners which Oscar didn't have all that much trouble with. That being said I can't see Cotto ko'ing Margarito... he almost didn't ko Judah, and he couldn't KO Malignaggi(or whatever), Ndou, Mosley, and other guys who are tough like Margarito even though he was landing bombs. However Cotto punches like Foreman in that he doesn't have a whole lot of snap to his punches, but he has more force behind his punches than anyone I see below 160, and that has an effect because it ruins his opponent's equilibrium when they are hit by him.
Re: Antonio Margarito is the real deal and I'm just a hatin fool for not recognizing.
Cotto was at 140 vs Malinaggi and fought a round then took a round off, he's a lot more comfortable at 147 as you can see. Judah was moving away from Cotto the whole time and Miguel had to stalk him down. N'Dou has never been stopped, and neither has Shane Mosley.
Margarito COULD stay away however Tony doesn't fight like that he has to brawl and vs Cotto it's suicide, it has been for every guy who has fought Cotto.
And even when Cotto DOESN'T stop someone he beats the CRAP out of them, breaking bones...look at their faces hell look at Cotto-Branco he stopped him on a punch to the freaking shoulder!!!

Hey Lyle , you are are been saying good point , everybody are been talking about Margarito power punch , but the intrigue point here is how can Margarito could assimilate Cottos power? We cant forget that , i think that Margarito have more flaws than Cotto........Cotto have showed , how can his chin assimilate , but Margarito do? and with who?

Mosley was stopped by Vernon Forest. However NDOU hasn't been stopped, but to my knowledge hasn't foughten any big punchers except Cotto.
I definitely think Cotto will bust Tony up,but I think Tony will be returning the fire, especially in the form of uppercuts. And Margarito has never been stopped either and his whole career has been at welterweight. I still don't think Paul Williams beating Margarito was a fluke... Paul's footwork early didn't allow Tony to get off to a quick start, and Margarito is so limited athletically I think great athletes like COtto and Mayweather could avoid a lot of his punches, and counter where nobody else could.
Re: Antonio Margarito is the real deal and I'm just a hatin fool for not recognizing.
Mosley has NEVER been stopped...he's been knocked down but NEVER stopped....you had best check your facts before you post them.
You don't uppercut a guy who throws hooks like Cotto without leaving yourself wide damn open.

margarito made cintrone look like a non-puncher the type of guy amir khan fights. you've got to be tough to take that type of guys punches that well. i think a fight with cotto would be interesting, if margaritos in that frame of mind then he could beat cotto, however he seems to sometimes start to late so i feel cotto may get the win
Re: Antonio Margarito is the real deal and I'm just a hatin fool for not recognizing.
I give toni so so much respect because he is one tough motherfucker. On of the best chins ever in boxing IMO. BUT it was his chin that has carried him a lot, and did so in the citron fight.
I am a somewhat of a toni fan, and wanted him to win last night, but it was clear citron was the better boxer, he did a few things wrong, should of run a bit more and just jabbed away, toni did make it hard for him. Most normal fighters tho would not of been able to take the blows that citron unleashed, it was toni's freakishly durable chin that alowed him to take everything citron had and keep coming. You could see Citron was getting fucked up mentaly when he had hit him with everything bar the kitchen sink and toni was still battering him.
I don't think i would put toni in the top 5 WW for boxing skill though, he is very very open and lacks a few things, Cotto will need to box and move, not get stupid and get into a war with him, break down the body and slow him down. Will be a hell of a fight, i think cotto will be able to fight smart enough to win.

Judah did and rocked Cotto to his boots.
The upercut is the best thign to stop a hooker lol... that hook wont land if the upercut gets in first.
I think toni would have to throw it form range to get away with it tho as cotto's handspeed will outmatch toni's.
Re: Antonio Margarito is the real deal and I'm just a hatin fool for not recognizing.
Well #1 Margarito reminds me a lot of Roberto Duran, he's crass and callous and I would LOVE to see Margarito-Mayorga in the future.
#2 Margarito's CHIN has carried him a long way....you just can't take body shots and if he's throwing these looping punches he's going to get countered by Cotto and well, it's not going to tickle that's for damn sure
Re: Antonio Margarito is the real deal and I'm just a hatin fool for not recognizing.
I think he beats PDF. He is simply too big, too strong and throws punches from every angle under the sun non stop. He is capable of breaking down any defense out there. PBF would not have the size or strength to ward him off.
Cotto is another question. He does have power and does have the strength to keep Margarito off him. That would be an explosive fight.
I think marg has a better chance than Cotto to beat PBF simply due to his massive size and workrate, although Cotto has shown some great versatility and could find a way to win also.
All Styles baby!!

My bad, I thought the first Forrest-Mosley fight ended in KO, but regardless Margarito hasn't been stoped either.
Re: Antonio Margarito is the real deal and I'm just a hatin fool for not recognizing.
Margarito vs. Cotto. Got dam I wan't to see this happen! I think Cotto might have it by a hair. Whoever wins is going to look like they still could have lost just by looking at their face is my guess.

Margarito is not any stronger than Baldomir or Oscar De La Hoya, and his speed is more like Baldomir's, but he throws even wider punches. People won't be breaking down Mayweather's defense if Oscar can't do it. The only person I see standing a chance of doing it is Cotto because he has such good timing on the inside, and he had really quick, sharp, hooks. Cotto not only outpunched MOsley and Judah, but he was quicker than them as well, not in the handspeed type of way, but he reacted faster, and was much sharper than either of them when he fought.
Re: Antonio Margarito is the real deal and I'm just a hatin fool for not recognizing.
Yes but Shane is a better technician than Margarito and has some of the fastest hands P4P and he's harder to hit than Margarito.
Cotto got hit by Judah who has extremely quick hands.
Margarito shouldn't be compared to either one of those guys
