Re: Kermit Cintron: Where to now?
What amazed me about this fight was the disparity between the two fighters,
Margarito is on a completely different level to Cintron as was Gomez with Cotto. I actually come away from watching this fight believing the 147lb division is not as strong as most people think. Cintron is not going to beat any A list fighters at Welterweight and that includes Zab who would punish him too! Let's get it on with Cotto V Margo and the sooner the better to erase the memory of this disappointing night of one sided boxing.
Re: Kermit Cintron: Where to now?
Why was that disappointing??? Margarito and Cotto are just REALLY God damn good....that's the only reason they dominated.
Hell Cintron is a good fighter, he demolished Estrada who is a good fighter a tough guy. Gomez is down a weight class and he's a tough guy he has really improved over the years and he just didn't fight the right fight....it's like he was star struck "Wow Miguel Cotto is punching me in the face" ;D

Is Cintron a good fighter? Obviously he isn't at the elite level, that's why i say the Welterweight division is not as strong as people think and these top guys like Margo, Cotto, Floyd etc are light years ahead of the pack. I was disappointed because i paid for world championship boxing and got a training drill from Cotto instead.
Re: Kermit Cintron: Where to now?
Cintron was just a title holder the other day before Margarito got to him. Sure Cintron isn't up for beating Margarito but it doesn't mean he's a bum and it doesn't mean the division is weak either.
Cintron was only outmatched by 1 fighter it doesn't mean he couldn't beat someone else in the divison

I can't even imagine the destruction that would occur if Cintron was to land on someone with those baby MMA gloves... maybe not such a bad idea!
Re: Kermit Cintron: Where to now?
Manny Steward fighters all seem to be very poor infighters.

maybe but Cintron is the one who wanted to fight on the inside to begin with
Re: Kermit Cintron: Where to now?
I don't think he wanted too.. I dont think he had the tools to keep Margarito off of him. I think he just gave up and settled on trying to land that big bomb
Re: Kermit Cintron: Where to now?
There are a few fights at 147 for Cintron, but I can't see him being in the top 5. Maybe he should try his luck at 154. I don't see Cotto, Margo, Floyd, or Mosely going to 154 until the smoke clears. His best chance at 147 is the winner of Quintana-Williams. Tony will more than likely fight Cotto, and If Mosely wins, he might get Floyd if he wins. Those are the likely scenarios, IMO. A win against someone decent at 154, and Cintron could try for a shot at Forrest. It's not like big names are knocking at his door right now.

Thats what confused me because he looked like he had no chance but stayed in instead of keeping a safe and comfortable distance.
Re: Kermit Cintron: Where to now?
Marg was Cintron's kryptonite. 2 things you have to consider:
1.) Not everyone would be able to take Kermit's power.
2.) Even if they could take his power, would they have the arsenal and the balls to stand with him and bang? Because long range,he's going to destroy you.
I think Cintron beats or gives dam tough fights to:
Clottey
Judah
the Williams that fought Quintana
Collazo
I don't think Kermit is the bum he's made out to be. I think his power can get him out of ALOT of trouble. I mean some of his ko'es are SCARY! It depends if he can rebound,he's cretainly young enough.

That's actually what I was gonna say. 147's just two deep with guys that are just a bit (or a whole lot) too good for him. If he stays at 147 try to get a shot with Zab, why not, maybe he could land a bomb. Maybe Paul Williams since he doesn't hit hard but that's still a tough fight. Maybe Collazo since that he's not gonna get punished or anything, he might just get outboxed. Stay away from PBF, Cotto, obviously Margarito, Mosley, Clottey, etc.
Re: Kermit Cintron: Where to now?
Would love to see Cintron vs Andre Berto. That would be a very good fight.

think berto has a few more fights b4 he can try sum1 like citron...
citron took a fucking hellish beating before he was stopped, a lot of that was him being stupid, trying to go toe-to-toe to win the way he lost before.
cit has a load of class and a push that would destroy any normal fighter, maga is a freak and won purly because he is so fucking stupidly tough. it was clear citron was the better boxer in that fight to me.
