Re: Anyone Want To Doubt Joe Calzaghe Again??

He even sex played B-POP and drilled the old man in the culo

Re: Anyone Want To Doubt Joe Calzaghe Again??
Icb then according to your logic paulie should never win a fight cause even his power shots are slaps. I honestly saw calzaghe outhustle hop and beat him at his own dam game at times, I think I even saw frustration in b hop in the 10th round or so. So calzaghe throws 5 and say lands 2 solid, thats still more than bhops 1 for 2. On the inside cal was doin the same shit with his head that b hop does, I just saw cal as the all around better fighter and 116-111 honestly seemed pretty reasonable. Oh and I'm not welsh or anything before I'm accused of bias, ha
Re: Anyone Want To Doubt Joe Calzaghe Again??

I can't remember the exact rounds but Hopkins for certain won the first 4 rounds IMO, he then won the 11th, and he also won the round where he stunned Calzaghe at the end of the round. You can easily have Hopkins winning 6 rounds.
First of all no he didn't clearly win the first 4 rounds...The second was a draw at best..the fourth was definitely a Calzaghe round as also mentioned by all commentators as a turning round of the fight.
So a punch at the end that pushes Jc back wins a round? after having been taking combinations throughout it?
And noway did hopkins win the 11th..the guy was tiring all thru the later rounds...
He took 5 mins...i mean a full 5 mins faking a low blow...pathetic really
Hopkins won the first 4 rounds IMO he did land the much more effective blows in those rounds. And Calzaghe was struggling to get any punches off. Calzaghe did comeback strong and won majority of the rounds after that but i still feel Hopkins did manage to win another 2 rounds after the first 4 rounds, making it 114-113 Hopkins.
Your saying no way this and no way that basically saying your opinion is correct when it isn't. Those rounds were close and i gave them to Hopkins on the cleaner more effective punches. I have my opinion you have yours none of us are wrong because its just an opinion not a fact.
Re: Anyone Want To Doubt Joe Calzaghe Again??
Can someone please explain what Hopkins did to deserve to win the fight other than score a knockdown?

I'm saying noway because if you give hopkins this fight after being outworked, outpunched and outscored then judging a fight must be quite an abstract thing..

So from the top of my head, 2 good punches win a fight? even if there were a couple of 2 good punches a round....they wouldn't win you a fight.

See i hate people like you who try and cause an argument, i actually do boxing and have been watching boxing for a decade. I know how to score fights and i don't appreciate that comment from you, because it really is an easy comeback and all i have to say is you don't know how to score a fight either, but i won't because like i said its just an opinion no one is wrong. Hopkins was out punched but he still landed the more cleaner effective punches and the knockdown gave him the edge in the scoring IMO.
Re: Anyone Want To Doubt Joe Calzaghe Again??
It was an ugly fight but I thought Calzaghe clearly won. I gave Hopkins round 1 and rounds 3 & 4.
I'm just glad I didn't have to pay to see it. Hopkins is either old and worn down or lazy as hell. You pick.

wow didn't know you were the only person that boxes around here.....
as I said and as I will repeat..cleaner punches would win you a fight if you were landing the same amount or maybe a couple less a round....but not when the opponent outpunches you by a big margin..which was the case here....IMO

No way Hopkins was even close to winning that. I distinctly remember you picking Hopkins by UD right before the fight too.;D
No i didn't i said Hopkins by controversial decision, and i also said Calzaghe by decision as well. I changed my mind on the fight plenty of times i didn't favor any boxer. But i seem to remember you saying Calzaghe would dominate this fight and didn't i tell you it would comeback to haunt you ??
I fixed my original posting. But your final call was indeed a decision by Hopkins. But true you were back and forth on it.
To be honest it was the flash knockdown that stopped Calzaghe winning by a large margin. Two points down after the first and being too cautious in the first four did mean it wasnt a completely dominant performance. The knockdown made him cautious and hesitant for a few rounds.
I dont think it was a particularly close fight though nor one that ended up all that difficult to score. Calzaghe was beginning to dominate down the stretch. That was obvious. He was fresh and coming on more and more. Hopkins wasnt doing very much at all.

Exactly. Hopkins was outworked significantly. Not even that close.

Yes i do feel the knockdown did make Calzaghe cautious for a few rounds, he even said after the fight he was being cautious of Hopkins right hand. In the end Calzaghe has got some defensive issues and Hopkins done excellent for a 43 year old man, thats one of the best performances i've ever seen from a 40+ boxer. I feel Hopkins just nicked it based on the knock down but it was very close IMO.
Re: Anyone Want To Doubt Joe Calzaghe Again??
I scored the fight.
7-5 rounds for Joe.
With round 1, 10-8 for Hopkins.
Score: 114-113 for Joe Calzaghe.
