He's a fucking nobody, he's made a couple appearances on Showtime but only fighting a barely known Frenchman and a completely unknown Welshman.
To put that into perspective Clinton Woods is probably 100 x better known than David Haye in the US after his fights with Roy Jones Jr and Antonio Tarver.
Haye is completely and totally unknown. I have no doubt that Wlad probably never had heard of him before he started calling his name out. I mean do you really think Wlad has ever spent any time in the last couple years thinking about the likes of Mormeck, O Neil Bell and Steve Cunningham?
They are just nobodies in the general consciousness of boxing and Haye is still a complete nobody in heavyweight terms.
He needs to learn some humility and not go down the Charlie Zelenoff route of thinking he's already a legend. Wlad would retire him if they met right now. Kind of makes me want to see it......

Just a few months back before the Enzo fight Bernard Hopkins didn't know who Haye was either.
Yet Haye was ringside seated next to Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy Promotions for Calzaghe-Hopkins.
Clearly he is becoming known to the RIGHT people very fast.
So if you don't like the hype now wait till it really starts ;)

Bilbo your opinion is valid but you are being a little bit ignorant about the cruiserweights. They are all the top guys in the division and Haye has clearly showed us he is a different class to them all. He can only beat what the division has to offer and he has done just that, and in style!
Also Woods is more popular because he's been over to fight two of your top boxers, whereas Haye is still young and only just looking to go over there to fight. So that kind of figures.
Anyways you can retract your comments after Haye has ko'd a few of your boys and we'll have done with it ;)
Re: klitchko responds to haye
Fair play to Klitchko. Think he's right in what he says. Haye is a good boxer, but there's a massive difference in getting hit by a heavyweight.

Well first off I'm British so Jones and Tarver are not my guys ;)
Secondly Haye hasn't shown he's different class at all. He got dropped by Mormeck and in a life and death fight his greater power was the telling difference.
Enzo is just a decent domestic level fighter nothing more. Lee Swaby Ko'd him in 3
Beating Jean Marc Mormec is just not that big a feat in world terms. It's an impressive victory especially going over to France to do it but Mormeck is at the end of his career and certainly wouldn't be able to cut it in the heavyweight divsion.
The cruiserweight division is looking pretty weak any way. Bell has showed he's got nothing left. Mormeck didn't have anything left when Haye fought him and there's very little to no talent in the divsion apart from Haye and Cunningham.
But at heavyweight, even though it's a weak division there are still several fighters, more than 10 that I'd fancy would either KO Haye or outbox him.
Wlad,
Peter,
Thompson
Valuev
Chagaev
Chambers
Povetkin
J C Gomez
Dimitrenko
I'd pick all of them to beat him.
I'd also even give old timers like Oliver McCall, Oleg Maskaev, Jameel McCline, John Ruiz and some of the new breed like Kevin Johnson, Chris Areola and myabe even domestic rivals Matt Skelton and Danny Williams to upset him.
He's far far far far from beatable. In fact any heavyweight who he can't get out of there inside 6 rounds would probably be favourite to take him out.
I don't see anything on his resume that suggests he's going to be a huge force at heavyweight.
I'm sure he'll get a shot. I belive Warren is managing him now and he'll doubtless guide him well. A win over a shot former champ like Hasim Rahman would be a great way to get him American recognition for instance.
But anyone who can stand up to his power will beat him imo.
Re: klitchko responds to haye
Appollogies for the mistake of nationality ;)
I see your points and your opinions are justified. I could be overestimating him like many others but I think its more the excitement we have a british guy in there going after the heavyweights to try and ignite some spark into the scene. He may have beaten domestic and past their best fighters in Macca and Mormeck, but he's still created a buzz doing so, and therefore you see why the excitment is there.
Like I said I like Haye and I really hope he can do as he says at the heavyweight scene and not be another Bruno who everyone loved for his efforts rather than success.
Re: klitchko responds to haye
Warren managing Haye? Thankfully not.
If Warren was guiding him he'd be fighting Pele Reid next followed by Martin Rogan then Fat John Mcdermott, Sprott, Williams, Skelton and Audley.. in amongst the rematches. Fact.
Re: klitchko responds to haye
i do like david haye, and think he's goner give many heavyweights a run for there money but sometimes they way he speaks really lets himself down
Re: klitchko responds to haye
The Tyson video made me laugh. ;D

Im sure Wvlad saw Haye vs Thompson and just feels all he has to do is stick his left hand in Hayes face until he gets tired.
