Re: Out of Body experience
One winter's evening a year or more ago I arrived home from a particularily hard training session.
It was freezing outside and I went into my sitting room where the stove was producing heat that made it feel like a sauna!
I sat ionto one of the deep armchairs and sat for thirty minutes watching television.
I felt hungry and arose suddenly, but as I stood up I kept on rising, I felt like I was hitting the ceiling, I could see the room as If I was really high up and I was looking down.
As I looked down I saw a figure slumped on the floor in a weird position. The person was on their knees with their head on the floor and arms spread wide. As my eyes focused to see who it was I seemed to draw closer, until I throbbed back to reality.
I had stood up and driven myself head first into the solid Oak floor (on concrete.) I had cracked the floor and I was busted wide open bleeding onto the floor and couch,
I got to my feet and staggered to the kitchen where I tried to expolain to my family.
In the panic of fixing my head I forgot about the weird expierience.
Re: Out of Body experience
hahahaha that is extremely funny apart from your head being split open, that would have been crazy! Did you panic at all (when you saw the body on the floor)?

Not panic as such, just a bit of concern and wonder and like I said I began to feel the pain as my vision drew me closer to the body I was looking at.
Weird.

About the out of body I have seasons, where I go for months straight having 2 or 3 a month then it stops.
I also have these often and I've been doing lots of research lately on them.

So I'm the only one that gets rapped by a female demon at night? :-\

Well I've seen her a couple of times during these experiences so I would say yes. She has dark long hair and soft hands she likes to kiss my stomach.
Re: Out of Body experience
This will sound pretty weird and everyone I've tried to explain it to before just gives me a blank look but I can 'sort of' induce an out of body experience at will.
I don't actually leave my body, I just get the intense feeling of floating up and then hurtling through tunnels really fast.
I can only do it when I'm tired, usually on first waking and it happens by me concentrating on my eyes. I keep them shut but focus on them and after a few seconds I'll get a high pitched ringing noise in my ears and I'll immediately feel myself floating up and then hurtling through tunnels.
My eyes are shut and in my minds eye I experience myself hurtling down tunnels.
I can only stay in this state for a few seconds, maybe 15 seconds tops and then I automatically pull out of it.
I've tried to stay longer but it feels weird, almost like I'd die if I stayed under.
I've been able to do this for as long as I can remember and have done it hundreds of times, but whenever I've tried to explain it people think I'm nuts.
But it's the same process every time.
I have to feel really tired, semi conscious.
I need to focus on my eyes. Can't explain it, I guess it's like looking at those Magic Eyes pictures, you can't explain what you do but when you get it you understand.
When I enter the feeling of floating it's ALWAYS accompanied by a high pitched sound in my ears.
I can only maintain it for a 10 - 15 seconds
It always follows that pattern. I never open my eyes, so am not really leaving my body, it's just a physical sensation.
I'd love to hear if anyone else has ever done this..........

I've experienced similar things while under the influence of drugs, but I guess that doesn't count. It sounds cool though, do any sorts of emotions accompany the experience or is it purely a physical thing?

The only emotion I feel is fear because it literally feels like my body is floating away. That's why I can't hold onto it and come out after just a few seconds.
The first couple times it happened I was terrified but afterwards I felt exhilarated and wanted to go back in.
It was then that I tried to reexperience it and like I say I find that when I'm tired, on first waking if I focus on my eyes I can induce the experience within a few seconds. It only works when I'm just awakened though and always accompanies by my ears ringing.
It's not that I actually leave my body, and to open my eyes immediately takes me out of the experience, but I feel the sensation incredibly strongly. It literally feels like I float off of the bed and then hurtle down tunnels at breakneck speed. I can see the ground undulating underneath me in my mind. I don't consciously 'think' what I'm seeing it just appears, usually I[m caved in, kind of like hurtling through a sewer, or wipeout style track but occasionally I'm speeding over ground.
My best one ever I was hurtling over these rolling hills on a misty day and came to a lake, shrouded in fog.
It seemed so real it was amazing, but again probably only lasted 15 seconds tops, although it seemed much longer.

Fear aside, that sounds really cool... I wonder what is happening. As someone who is religious do you feel that there is any spiritual significance to it? Or do you feel that it is stricktly a mental trick (for lack of a better term)?

I doubt there is anything spiritual to it whatsoever. As the event is always preceeded by a ringing in my ears I can only logically conclude that somehow inducing that ringing is responsible.
Maybe it affects the balance in my inner ear or something which combined with tiredness and being in a semi woken state makes me feel a temporary floating feeling. My brain probably then automatically enhances this state and allows me to feel as if I'm hurtling through tunnels.
That's just my opinion, and a complete guess but I'm fairly certain is it something along those lines. I have never experienced it without my ears ringing first and I always need to close my eyes and focus on them to trigger the ear ringing in the first place.
Most likely I'm triggering an ear pop or someting
But i'm 100% sure it has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with a spiritual dimension, and I'm also 100% certain that it's not real, i.e I don't really float anywhere or leave my body.
So yes, a mental 'trick' is what I'd say it was.
Next time you wake up try it. Close your eyes hard and focus on them. I can't explain it any better than that but if your ears start ringing hold on, cos you may be in for a hell of a ride!

Succubus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In Irish mythology there's a lady called a "banshee"
Ban means woman in Gaelic, shee is derived from a term for dead.
The lady is fabled to have long black hair which she is seen to comb. If she is heard wailing a family member is supposed to be within hourts of death.
There are still people afraid of her today in country areas.
Read the wiki-analysis of the succubus, they're pretty similar.

As long as she wasn't holdin' a gun and had some dead frogs lined up, I guess we're both alright. :-\ :-X
