Re: So What's Next For Juanma?
You guys honestly want to see Concepcion face Lopez? That would not end good for Concepcion, he would be completely outboxed and probably knocked out JML is on another level.
I think at this point Lopez would be the favorite against anyone he faced. Would probably give Marquez the best shot at beating him.

Let Izzy, Rafa, and Caballero softens him up first maybe? (imo, all winnable fights by Juanma)
Hehe ;D
Maybe this Kid just might be the one to clean the division. He seems very personable too.
Re: So What's Next For Juanma?
I doubt its one of the belt holders next but you never know. Somebody like Poonsawat, Concepcion, Kiko Martinez? Then I suspect at some point, two-three fights, they'd think Izzy was ripe for the taking.

It's been a while since I watched a Thai warrior in action. I don't mind seeing one against Juanma.
Re: So What's Next For Juanma?

Juan Manuel Lopez vs. Bernabe Concepcion NextWatch Concepcion In Action

Young, big, strong, and awkward, Filipino super bantamweight Bernabe Concepcion might be the first challenger of newly crowned WBO champion Juan Manuel Lopez.
Having seen Concepcion against Torrence Daniels (video below) earlier this year, Bernabe reminded me of a young and wreckless Manny Pacquiao. His skills are far from polished, but raw ability and natural strength can go a long way in boxing.
Concepcion, now managed by Pacquiao and being brought to the United States to work with trainer Freddie Roach, has been mentioned by Bob Arum (promoter to Lopez and Concepcion) as Lopez's opponent for the first defense of his crown.
Mexico vs. the Philippines has produced some nice boxing drama. Is Puerto Rico vs. Philippines the next in hot boxing feuds?

Im completetly agree Pavlik , i had been saying this , but now i see that somebody is saying the samething..............;D
Re: So What's Next For Juanma?
All of a sudden there are a whole bunch of fantastic potential fights at super bantam. Juanma in with any of the champions or Marquez is a fight I want to see. After Mayweather retiring guys like Juanma, Pavlik etc. give me hope for the future of boxing.
Re: So What's Next For Juanma?
well, dpdl has always been a limited fighter and he got caught and i'm not about to completely jump on juanma's bandwagon yet. i need to see some more of him in a longer bout against another top-tiered fighter before i can say totally that he's the real deal.
Re: So What's Next For Juanma?
the fight with b.concepcion would be a very good gauge for juanma. i ain't completly sold on him yet.
Re: So What's Next For Juanma?
De Leon never really impressed me. His knockout of Bautista was good but I always thought he was beatable. He throws WAY TOO wide shots and eventually would be caught by someone who threw shorter punches. Case in point, Juan Manuel Lopez.
Re: So What's Next For Juanma?
Food for thought...
Sergio Medina
Ricardo Cordoba
Bernard Dunne
Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym
Nestor Rocha
Jhonny Gonzalez
Re: So What's Next For Juanma?
There's a big chance that JuanMa will face Concepcion next provided that Concepcion will have an impressive victory on his July 26 scheduled fight underneath Cotto-Margarito.
Both JuanMa and Concepcion are TopRank/Arum boxers so negotiations will be a lot easier. I think JuanMa should have his 1st title defense against a good ranked prospect. Concepcion is WBO's no. 7 ranked super bantam.
JuanMa already has an August 30 date for his next fight and Concepcion might be his opponent...

I was about to post that, that Roach thought Concepcion needed a bit more experience.
