Re: Jack Loew Blasts Calzaghe camp
Totally agree with Jack...maybe not totally...but I agree basically.
Being a fan of both...I can honestly say that Joe needs to put up & shut up.
If Pavlik's such a walk in the park...put on your hip boots & get deep in the muck because honestly...it aint gonna be that easy.
In the end...I believe in Joe & feel that he would win...but Kelly's got rocks in his gloves & Joe tasted canvas against my FOAT when the Nard dropped him & that aint a great sign.

If this fight gets signed, the smack talking is gonna be good stuff.

I can't imagine what the drbr for Calzaghe Vs B-Hop would be like...I had B-Hop by like a point.

Enzo's knows how Joe fairs against Lockett, they are in the same camp for goodness sakes. It was the measuring stick and Enzo saw what he did...and there will be no Pavlik fight. Period.
The Calzaghe camp didn't need to comment on Pavlik like that, stupid, a little disrespectful and leaves yourself open to be called out.
Lockett never had a hope against Pavlik, he was never even close to world class, I don't think that fight had much of a bearing on Calzaghe's decision.
A pavlik fight at this time is a huge risk for Joe, the Calzaghe of a couple years ago would win a comfortable decision IMO, but the lethargic version against Hopkins would be in for a real tough fight, it would be a real risk to his legacy considering if he were to win Pavlik's stock would be downgraded retrospectively.
I would personally hold a W over Kelly as huge for Joe, but many fans are already pointing out deficiencies in Pavlik's game (slow footed, 1 dimensional, and unproven above middle). I think Pavlik's a brilliant fighter, and while there is some truth about his slow feet, his other attributes (Power, strength, reach, awsome jab, determination) more than make up for it. I believe a lot of fans are weary of jumping on a bandwagon nowadays in case they look stupid like they did with Lacy.

I'd see this as an easy night work for Joe if im honest!
I got big BIG respect for Kelly but his manager is a gobshite who NO-ONE in boxing circles has a good word to say about.

Hi Enzo. :wavey:
Re: Jack Loew Blasts Calzaghe camp
Joe is 36 , his skills not what they once were, is undefeated and looking for a final huge pay day - which he deserves.
Ask yourself this - if you were Joe what would you do
I know what I would do:)
NB - I used to slag Joe off regularly up to a couple of years back when he took easy fights so am in no way a massive fan (but am a fan;))

Ohlar there Mark TKO.
I've been a Calzaghe jock rider for the duration...I have no shame in saying so either.
Now...as to what I would do were I Calzaghe...I'd, first & foremost, fight RJJ. No matter what anyone says...that's the most marketable fight for him right now.
RJJ has had a bit of a career booster of late with his wins...even being over C+ grade fighters. He's worked his way up to the front of the line again & has become more than just a shade of his former self. He's making noise at 168lbs & 175 respectively.
Pavlik on the other hand is a star at 160lbs. He has'nt beaten a legit (no slight to Lockett) 168'er or 175'er yet.
No if's, and's, or buts!
