If Abraham fights Marquez than Pavlik will fight Rubio
Bob Arum should fire himself if he makes a Winky fight. But he obviously won't.
The road should lead to Abraham, even if its two fights away.
Did'nt vote here...mainly becaues I just don't know who's a truely viable optional match out there for Pavlik to face.
In the end...I'd like to see Pavlik face Felix Sturm.
While I like Sturm (& all...& believe you me...I do) I don't feel that Sturm has faced a true test worthy/name opponent in the last few years & it's time to offer up that strap.
Sturm has all kinds of potential...but he just seems to leary to test it & less likely to tap it.
Pavlik would more than likely destroy Sturm...but that would get Kelly a belt & take another step closer to cleaning up/unifying the division! That being said...if I have to lose one of my fav's to do that (ie : Felix Sturm) then offer Sturm's neck up on the executioner's block.
Pavlik would chop it...no doubt.
If that isn't a fight that could be made...then make Sturm vs Abraham after he faces mandatory challenger Marquez. Abraham should have no problem with Marquez, so after that's done & settled...squash the Euro-rivalry of Abraham/Sturm & send Abraham with his hand ful of belts to face Pavlik.
Clear that up & we are closer to done.
Pavlik vs Abraham would be a smoker...& honestly...a tuff one to call...but I'll lean towards King Arthur.
I would like to see Abraham but Rubio - Pavlik would most likley be held in Quicken Loans Arena (Cavs home) in Cleveland. So I would rather go to that fight than see Abraham on TV.
I belive Pavlik can beat all of these names and Rubio would be the easiest. Then Kessler , Calzaghe and Abraham. Calzaghe will never fight him because Calzaghe either fights Americans in his back yard (do you think Hopkins would have gotten that kind of desicion in Wales....I sure dont)or washed up has beens. He is a coward. Kessler would try to trade and Pavlik has the reach and the power edge and heart. Abraham and Pavlik would be too close to call. Strum , Rubio and Wright would all be cut to pieces.
That looks like the most likely scenario, with the winners of each facing each other. I think the Rubio fight is pretty much done, being they are both TR fighters. I also believe Abraham wants to ease his way into the mix. One thing that was weird was G. Lorenzo saying that he is already signed to fight Abraham regardless of him winning/losing to Miranda. Did that hinge on him winning? If not he may get a shot at Abraham due to politics....
Nvm...
I think a Kessler/Pavlik fight would be too close to call. Kessler can fight smart and he has a good edge in speed while Pavlik seems to have better power and workrate. Tough fight for both.
I honestly see Pavlik beating Abraham fairly easily. Abraham simply goes in a shell way too often and Pavlik is great at threading a needle. Abraham does have a decent chance of landing something big though. I still cannot figure out why Abraham goes into such a heavy shell. I actually find it very frustrating to watch as he would be really something if he came out swinging like Zertuche did ;D
Pavlik should fight AA but most likely fight rubio next as AA as his mandatory to fight. I dont see cal wanting to fight him and im not sure what kess is doing
