Re: If Hatton fought Pac Man
Obliterating a Naturally bigger David Diaz is a feat by itself but pitting Manny against a fighter who has been fighting as a junior welter all his life is CRAZY IMO, let alone a Ricky Hatton:(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup Pare;) Been here since June 2006.
I'm a lil worried hearing PAC that he might even go to 140lbs sounds like he is really serious in going up against Hatton:(
Bad move IMO.

Team Pacquiao says, they'll take the hatton fight for the title and the big purse. They also said they'll take the oscar fight at 147 for the big purse, now that will be rediculous. the hatton fight is becoming more logical but oscar at 147 :nono: but pac did mention he is most comfortable at 135 and would like to stay in the division.
Anyways where at the WASH are you at? Seattle?

I don't see it as lose lose for Hatton at all Saddo. Only the hardcore boxing fans will care about weight differential, to everybody else Hatton will be facing the worlds number 1 p4p fighter and a champion in 5 weight divisions. hw
They are both the same height, Pacquiao has a slightly longer reach and both have been entering the ring at 140 - 145 lbs in recent fights.
It's no more lose lose for Hatton the Mayweather was for De La Hoya.
If Hatton fought and beat Pacquiao then history would see that as by far his biggest win.
I really want to see this fight, and now I think it's the ONLY fight choice for both men if they want to have a real boxing mega event. The fight would be huge in the UK and the Phillipines and would even attract a big draw in America.
Great matchup imo.
I for once agree with Bilbo about the public not caring about weight divisions. It is just like the poster we had awhile back saying, "Its just 7 pounds, etc". Ignorant people don't realize that is a huge deal. Hell people I talk to usually asks me how many weight divisions there are, or how big is Floyd, etc. Someone asked me if Floyd was a cruiserweight one time. Now that would be a funny specatacle.

I just posted the following on another thread, and I'm too lazy to retype it:

Let's say for the sake of argument that Pacquiao goes to 140 and fights Hatton next. And let's say for the sake of argument, that Hatton, naturally the bigger man at 140, beats Pacquiao, who may not carry his power too well into 140.
Are Hatton fans going to claim that all of a sudden Hatton should vault back into p4p consideration? That would be grossly unfair to the other fighters who have scratched and clawed their way onto that list.
IMO, of course.
Re: If Hatton fought Pac Man
If Pac fought Hatton he would get destroyed . If he fought Cotto hed get destroyed . If he fought a washed up De La Hoya hed get destroyed .
If he fights losers like Diaz with a busted rib then he can win
Simple as . ;)

I think a win over Paulie ans Pacquaio puts Hatton back in the top 7 maybe top 5.

I rest my case... ;D
No offense, bro. But I'm glad YOU'RE not in charge of the rankings.
Re: If Hatton fought Pac Man
I'd like to see Pac in with Casa or Nate first (he absolutley flattens Khan after last night IMO).
Hatton-Pac would be a HUGE event, and very entertaining while it lasted, I'm all for it. I'm in agreement with the chief (saddo) when it comes down to what it actually means lagacy wise for Hatton. REgardless of outcome Pac will always be the superior fighter p4p, all this fight will prove if he can carry the weight or not.
Awsome performance last night, HOWEVER it's still very speculative wether he'll be able to carry it up further, He had to hit DD flsuh loads of times to get him hurt and it's possible 140 may be a step to far.
Re: If Hatton fought Pac Man
If Pacquiao can handle 140 well he shouldn't have a problem beating Hatton
