Shit, that was almost a compliment. I think a Khan move to the US could be a good thing for him. Get him out of the small pond of the UK where he is a big name and put him in the big pond which is America, where he is just another prospect. A year of training hard and keeping under the radar while moving up steadily could be good for Amir.
A bout against the likes of David Diaz by this time next year would be good progression.

I try to stay away from rating prospect's chins. A lot of great fighters were down early but Khan's chin seems to be a genuine problem. He does have talent, wouldn't say he's got the most talent of any prospect, but he does have a lot of talent. Still a lot to learn though. Not looking for him to step and fight a champion yet but would like to see him put it with more punchers like Gomez. Gomez was in the end a learning experience, it's better he faces more, less talented punchers now for the first time then facing them for the first time when going for a belt. This should have happened long ago in his progression imo, but better late then never.

Chin's not his only problem, he comes a bit unglued sometimes, gets sloppy defensively and that leads him to getting hit with some shots he shouldn't be getting hit with. He's not an average talent though. Not the most skilled prospect in the world IMO but obviously not an average talent.

Yeah I think whoever is handling him should have made him watch Holt - Torres II to show why it's a bad idea to get as crazy sloppy as he does when he is going for the kill. That running while punching is absurd. Still, he has potential. Very fast, I think he's one of the more fast lightweights out there in terms of hand speed and his power seems up to par aswell. Just has to harness it all.

I guess on the sliding scale of ridiculousness, I'm about halfway in the middle of seanie and markusdarkus.

Amir Khan has not fought for the domestic titles because the opposition at the moment are young, hungry and dangerous. Bruno did the same.:)

I would like to see Khan against Jon Murray. That would be a good fight. As Murray said the other night, he should sort out who is the best in the North West of England never mind shouting for a world title now.

For the record if they fought now I would put it 60/40 in Khans favour.

John Murray, yeah.. Would be a good, realistic fight for Khan. Plus it would be good to see Khan in with a Lightweight. ;D

I think Murray is far too slow on his feet to do any real damage. He'd not put the pressure on enough to stop Khan scoring over and over.

I'm actually a Khan fan. Just want to see my fellow Brit do well.

I wanted to see Khan plant his feet more often, pick his punches. He started to show signs of that about 4/5 fights ago but he is still very much a mover. He's style reminds me of a young Muhammad Ali in the way he tries to be elusive, always moving, coming at his man with darting attacks, blurring hand speed.

Thing is, what worries me is that when his man catches up with him, he hasn't a clue what to do. Not really anyway. I mean, i haven't seen one fight where he has tied his man up, hooked an arm, lean't on his man, did something just a little sinister on the inside.

What ever coach Khan finds, i hope they instill a little devil in him cause in about 2 fights time, he's gonna wish he had it.

Khan can do whatever he wants , unless Warren can buy him a new chin , he will get KOED againest any sort of puncher.

I don't think chin matters really.

What matters is that once their chin is tapped and they go down, do they fall apart or do they come back stronger.

That can mentally tell what a fighter has. Apparently Khan has something because he got up and won.


But he can't keep fighting opposition like this unless he wants to go the andre berto route.

A bad habit he has is working of His last shot not the other guys. Down the road it will find Him.

Andre berto is WBC welterweight champion of the world

I think khan would bite your hand off to be in the same boat as berto now.

Team khan are stuck in a lull now and warren seems quite happy to be cashing in on ITV money that khan is getting for fighting 2nd rate opponents.

Amir should be spending more time on finding a new promoter who can get him over to sky/setanta etc and less on tuning up a style which i believe is already good enough to compete at the highest level!!

If he was good enougth Frank would have Him in there make no mistake. There are reasons why He is not getting pushed, Frank Hates losing and losersplus Hes not a bad judge Ernie taught him well.

No doubt the lads got talent. Offensively id say hes the best from all the current prospects but defensivly a big no no, plus his inside fighting is crap. His speed and combinations at times are simply astonshing especially 9-10 punches against gomes when he was hurt himself.

Trainer wise america would be perfect for him, sumwhere where hes not a big name, roger maywether would be good or sum old school trainer. He neeeds to be roughed up a bit and brought back to the real world which would do him good. All i can say is stay away from manny steward!!!

Going to the States would be a disaster for him in everyway.
