Re: How do you build up your calves?
I just tried this while ago. There was more burn in my calves than usual. But it seemed easier as far as wind goes. When I started running flat-footed again to compare, I started getting a bit out of breath. But it might have been because I was speeding up, and just didn't realize it. Perhaps it's easier to run on the balls of your feet, although I would not suggest trying it in a foot race. ;)
Re: How do you build up your calves?
I do 3 minutes of sideway jumps over my abdoboard with my legs together at all times. Then a one minute break, and then 3 more minutes of it. I do it for 4 rounds. It really does get you fit!
As I take off and land on the balls of my feet I think it would help your calves, but I'm not really sure. Does someone fancy doing them and let me know what it affects?
(My abdoboard is about 40cm high)
