Hard one to call. I'd like to see Pavlik fight at SMW before I have to vote on this one because even though I know that he fought Taylor at a catchweight just short of SMW Taylor himself has never fought up at that weight so he can't really be classed as a natural SMW yet and that means that Pavlik has not fought anyone who is a SMW. That said Joe is certainly not getting any younger and Pavlik seems to be getting stronger and stronger so at the moment I think I would just edge it for Pavlik.
(Especially after Joe takes a beating off Roy.)

Agreed Calzaghes chin is grand, Any time he's been down he hasn't been hurt, he took alot of big bombs off Kessler and passed the test, Pavliks chin is pretty solid as well but he was all over the shop against Taylor, so it would be intresting to see how he'd do against big hitting suppermiddle/light heavy guys, don't think Calzaghe's power will trouble him but I think he'd out work him pretty handily

It'v very much dependant on whether or not pavlik can hurt Joe. Providing that Pavlik doesn't land an absolute bomb, i can't see anyway for him to win. I go for Joe and quite comfortably.
I actually feel he'll have a tougher night against Jones.

yes lets not forget the worthy Manfredo who lost twice to a super welter weight and once to a welter weight. He lost to a guy who got crushed by a worthy Cotto. Enzo has the balls to say Pavlik isnt worthy. They are coming off a split decision win ( which I thaught was a loss because I dont count arm punches and slaps as landing anything. Hopkins was never hurt or in trouble in that fight. One the other hand Hopkins hurt Joe four times and floored him once and still got raped by the judges. The judges beat Hopkins .. not Calzaghe) agianst a geriatric. I hope Pavlik crushes him in front of his father and country man who travel to Vegas to see their woman fight. I hope he leaves him limp in the ring. This will most likely be a boring fight of Calzaghe running and throwing arm punches and slaps. Pavlik will land flush like always. This pleases me. I will laugh if Jones wins and he retires . Thats how it needs t be. Roy prime for prime was way faster, more powerful , and
comanded the ring better than anyone at 168 or even 160. He was a beautiful fighter in the ring and I am glad for the great years watching him from the time I was a boy until know at 28. Thank you Roy Jones Jr.

He came back from a ton of punches and left a great champ slumped lifeless in the corner so to say he has a weak chin is shit too. Pavlik has never been down from one clean shot. He slipped with Bronco McKart and they ruled it a knockdown. I dont even count that and he knocked out the former slugger champ out in the middle rounds. Look at the shots he took from Miranda. He was never hurt of even phased. Locket maybee landed one good shot. Locket was a complete joke. He got knocked out from grazing blows just to show you how much power he has. I would say Pavlik jumping to 168 would be the hardest puncher in that class and maybe a top 5 in 175. He is a beast with good defense. great chin. World class conditioning and the heart of Gatti. I like Pavlik he is very exciting its just the guys that follow him and choose to make up crap about every opponent between 160-175 yet deny Pavlik has any weakness.
Im not saying Kelly has a weak him but someone said his chin is better than Calzaghes, im mearly stating on what basis.
That said i still think Joe will "slap" his way to a masterclass.
