Its kinda weird listhen to people talk about deaths in sport, its a true fact that people have died from playing chess. I think headgear is a false sense of security, you take more hits because you think you are safe, but with some people i dont think they'd jump into the ring without it. With backyard boxing or anything its kinda stupid and sounds poofta as but you need to know what to do if one of them gets knocked out, takes liver shot, chokes on their mouthpiece( it does happen surprisingly)

well make sure he learns the basics of boxing, i had a similar situation. boxed with some friends in my garage :p i worked off the jab and got his nose to bleed a little, so i won. his friend would probably try and throw most, if not only, big hits. so he should work on his reflexes and reaction time, then going in and countering. he'll have the advantage probably by 3-4 weeks, since he'll be able to read the big punches, but nothin fancy, just basics and he could definitely kick that kids ass.
