I'm just as excitied as i am for any other non superevent type of fight. I wouldn't pay to see it, but i'll be there right on the couch as i am for any fight i get the chance to see pro or amature.
Sort of ionterested, otherwise wouldn't be on this thread;). just don't see it as really meaningful, never rated paulie, if Hatton could really show something it would make for a build up for a more meaningful fight in the future against a Pac.
I'm very interested in the fight. Good contrast of style and a lot on the line for both fighters. Neither can afford a loss at this stage of their careers. They should both be highly motivated. Ricky knows by now that he is a 140lb fighter and the best he can do is rule that division until he's had enough. Paulie knows he can't bang up at 147, and he wants to be the man at 140.
I think both fighters were looking past their last opponents, and I suspect we'll see the best fight out of both than we've seen in a while. It's a well made match. It's a fight that needs to happen, and the winner is the king of the LWW's. How can I not be interested?
I just hope both show up in peak form, and on top of their games. If that's the case it has the potential to be a very good fight. I still think
Malignaggi isn't able to adjust and adapt like he did in the past, which should IMO make this a one sided affair. I really hope I'm wrong though.
Regardless of my opinion this is the most important fight at 140 that can be made this minute, so Kudos for making it happen.
Both camacho and Paulie were trained out of gleasons by billy giles for parts of theyr careers and i think thats where the similarities are..
As for both guys yeah i agree the stock has gone down.. for sure..
But i gotta say paulie is my man.. and im not one of these fickle fans so i keep the faith
Course Malignaggi split with billy giles and went with Mcgirt after the cotto fight.. Which hasnt seemed to do him all that much good..
Only really amazing performance i liked was the cherry fight.. hes a genuine challenge.. so is Ndou dont get me wrong but the styles were always gona be a masterclass on Ndou.. he hasnt as much to offer,
I dont know what it is about these guys going with buddy and it doesnt really seem to work out 80% of the time.. stick with who brought you to the dance i say..
So yeah sure im interested.. I want paulie to take out hatton and spoil his retirement party..
I hate Paulie Malinaggi with every fiber of my being!
I like Ricky Hatton....I hate his fans with a passion.
That being said Hatton is ripe for the picking. Paulie can take punishment, he's fast, he's crafty, and he has fast (albeit brittle) hands.
Ricky is older, he gets tired in the ring now due to blowing up between fights, he's easier to hit now, he's slower and I don't think he has the power anymore couple that with a sudden change in trainers and.....I think Paulie COASTS to a UD...sorry
Hatton opted to push through with this fight instead of a mega fight with the Pacman. Paulie also not open to the idea of step aside money.
I guess both protagonists considered this fight important but only few fans were really interested in this fight.
BTW Vegas bookmakers installed Hatton as a 5 to 1 favorite.
.
5 to 1 HOLY FUCK!!!!...I'd take that bet in no time!
yeah nice one.. I will actually take that bet i think.. Good show.
From a purist perpective this is a great match up. Not only is it a great contrast of styles but it's my favorite contrast of styles. Brawler verses quick footed boxer.
I've grown to love Hatton but i love Paulie's style
