Jorge always freaked me out. He would have been much better without the theatrics in there. It was almost like he lost close decisions due to it because he was actually highly skilled and could get the job done, but only if he was into it.
Back in the 80's, he was on ESPN top rank boxing all the time. One fight he even had crop circles on his head!LOL...Crazy stuff. ;D
Re: <-- The Original Clown Prince of boxing -->
He was a scrappy, spirited figher. His style definately matched his personality.
Re: <-- The Original Clown Prince of boxing -->
Like Dean said if only he would have dedicated himself to it.
He didn't train much all he did was spar. He didn't like road work or any of that stuff he just liked sparring. The dude was naturally gifted and was one of the best skilled fighters.
The Grove fights are classics.

I know a lot of people have seen very limited footage of him so maybe theres new stuff on here.
I know that if Paez would have applied himself more to the sport and would have dedicated himself 100% to the sport he would have been something special. He had tremendous skills and ability, his reflexes were insane.
His 1st fight vs. Grove was one of the best comebacks in history IMO. Being down on points and decking Grove to win a decision in the 15th round...
Here he is The Clown Prince of Boxing :jester:

Yes... Paez certainly qualifies for that title. Funny thing is, his clowning never rubbed me the wrong way as much as Hamed's clowning did. And Camacho's clowning was somewhere between Paez's and Hamed's (as far as being obnoxious).
