Re: Campbell vs. Guzman?
I think Guzman is one of those somewhat over-rated fighters. He does move in and out very quickly, making him a great master of timing, but... he lacks offensive arsenal in his armory. He relies mostly on his speed than his punches, which is usually limited to his favorite short hooks, mostly effective at short ranges. I have to say that he does use them very well but I think they are not enough against really good fighters. I think a good counter-puncher can effectively neutralize his limited offense. So far he has shown his skill against mostly mediocre fighters, the bests being Barrios and Soto, both pure punchers but a mediocre fighters nevertheless, IMO. I think fighters like Marquez can handle him pretty well.
So I think Guzman is a fighter ready to be exposed, and I think Campbell has what it takes to expose that weakness of his. And therefore, I'm going with Campbell to win this fight...
...or Guzman can choose to run all day, but that won't win him the fight either...

Re: Campbell vs. Guzman?
This fight bothers me. The more I think about it the more I get that nagging feeling. Guzman style is all wrong for Campbell. I know that. But Guzman jumping up in weight yet again concerns me. It's no secret he left his power 3 divisions down. He has nothing to keep Campbell honest. And Campbell knows it. I wouldn't be surprise if Campbell bully his ass all night. In fact I'm running with it. I'm going with Campbell. And I decided to put $250 on it.

Re: Campbell vs. Guzman?
This is a hard one to call.....i'll just take a guess and say that guzmans movement and speed will be enough for him to win. I don't see him getting the chance to bully guzman the way he did diaz, guzman will stick and move his way to a couple belts. I think you can make arguments for either guy.

Re: Campbell vs. Guzman?
man i barely post here anymore...i contented myself in just reading everybody's posts. anyway.. i think that guzman is a slick fighter and all. he is skilled but as we all know that he left his punching power at 122. and as skilled as guzman can be, he tends to trade punches thinking he still has the power. like what he did with soto. if soto caught him flush in that fight, it could have been lights out for him. even floyd sr who is a defense specialist could not prevent guzzy from standing toe to toe because he is an "old" fighter. hes about 32 now if im not mistaking. as the saying goes "you cant teach an old dog new tricks"

Re: Campbell vs. Guzman?
I wonder whos gonna be number 1 lightweight on Sunday , Casa , Campbell , Guzman , Khan ( joke )
I think Guz has the chance to make a statement and dazzle and if he does so taking the belts he will make the division his . I see the Casa - Marquez fight being close and indecisive.
Should Campbell beats Guzman though I think he should be ranked number 1

Re: Campbell vs. Guzman?
guzman will run all day so nates pressure will be the key...if guzman wins though with his typical boring style then expect him to be excluded in the jmm, diaz, casamayor equation....no promoter will risk losing money with this guy....
