Re: Margarito vs. Mayweather
Why people continue to say mayweather is scared a punk cant fight etc.....then give a 10 min speech about how thier favorite fighter would beat him amazes me. If floyd is or was such a horrible champion why can't people make thier fighter look good without using his name. Give it a rest already, the man is retired as of right now leave it at that. When he was here everyone wanted him gone...now he is and still, nevermind just plain silly is all.

Exactly! It has been clear he, just like any of us, is looking for the bigger payday and neither Cotto nor Margarito would offer him what he was looking for $$$$. People moaned and cried for him to be gone and now people want him back. Same with ODLH.

margarito and mayweather plz tony will look like an ass all night people think tony will kick his ass knock him out but in reality floyd takes this hands down nobody has never landed anything flush on floyd that i can recall and i doubt slow ass margo is. everybody acusses him of ducking cotto and tony but y would u fight them for 8million instead of fighting oscar for 20million+
It has been said over and over *sigh*.
Mayweather completely afraid of Cotto? Oh please. Let Cotto get up from the humiliating lost he just got and then we'll talk. Let's see how he deals with another champion in his prime.

Depends what you consider beat up. Floyd will be landing flush shots all night, while Margarito won't be able to land anything. Margarito will be flustered by Floyd's movement, and everytime he gets Floyd on the ropes, Mayweather will either just evade all his punches or tie him up like Cotto should have done.

That would be great! You know what else would be great? If guys could blast each other out of the ring like in Ring King, but alas, that ain't happenin'. Let Mayweather be retired. If he comes back (which I think he will) then let's lambast him if we have to.

I agree, I can't believe people are still complaining about PBF ducking WHILE HE'S RETIRED. Just let him be.

No he won't stop him, or I very much doubt it but I don't see him losing anymore than 2 rounds to Marg either! He really is that good IMO. And I don't even like the guy.

Floyd Mayweather will make Antonio Margarito look average and he will clearly outbox Margarito over 12 rounds im a fan of both fighters though im more of a fan of Floyd Mayweather but im being realistic here Floyd Mayweather moves too well and he can stay off the ropes like he did against Jose Luis Castillo in there 2nd fight so he would be taking away one of Antonio Margarito's strengths which is working on a opponent against the ropes........
Plus Antonio Margarito's punches are too wide plus he isn't quick enough in any attribute so i can't see Antonio Margarito winning this at all i see a potshot fest by Floyd Mayweather over 12 rounds clearly winning a UD.
I like the way people use Castillo as justification to dismiss Margaritos chances. After all didn't Jose push him close twice? Didn't Judah and ODLH push him close?
When was the last time PBF stayed centre ring entire fight?
I hear the word accuracy a lot as a deterant for Tony, How accurate can Floyd be? every single punch Cotto threw landed on the point of Margaritos chin, with more power than Floyd has ever thrown a punch.
Yes Marg is slow, but he doesn't stop coming. Baldomir couldn't crack an egg and he has half Tony's output, Hatton is a so called pressure fighter who throw's 40 punches a round??? there is no comparison.
Marg throws wide punches? 90% of the punches he threw against Cotto had minimum back swing/follow through, and came through the centre, they weren't the wild swings that N'dou threw in that gif where Mayweather avoids them, and half this board masturbates over. The commentators thought Cotto was winning the fight early cause they thought Tonys short punches, which hit arms/shoulders/ribs, were ineffective, NOT because Cotto was making him look like a bum.
Believe it or not I have PBF favourite if this fight comes off, I'm just being one sided in my arguments because the majority of you are being ridicilously one sided in yours.
If I were a trainer I'd be recommending PBFs style before any other, but guess what an apparently unbeatable style doesn't always equate to being a complete legend of your time. You have to prove it in the ring. Tyson looked unbeatable for four years, what if he retired before Douglas? would we give him the benefit of the doubt on beating every heavyweight that came after? unfortunately we probably would.
PBF has a very very good resume, but he has not faced the main challengers that were available to him at the time he was active to be considered amongst the Armstrongs/Robinsons of this world. Corrales was a good unbeaten name, give him that, Castillo is ONLY famous BECAUSE of his performances against PBF, He did not fight Tszyu when he stepped to 140, he fought Mitchell and Gatti, funny how he managed to fit those guys in for prob less than a million. I actually rate ODLH as a great win since it was a new weight and Oscar looked good in the previous fight and in Floyd's fight. Hatton, well he never showed anything at Welter.
Anyway, rant over.
Re: Margarito vs. Mayweather
Well let us look at Floyde Mayweathers career and see what it looks like. Ok let us look at the top wins that he has i going to name the top ones at least the ones i think were the best. You have Casstilo, Carralos and past his prime Oscar but also a bigger guy as well which comes into play. Now out of those names only one is hall of famer and a atg and that is Oscar. Now the undefeated record helps as well along with divsions he has won belts in help him as well. Problem is that he did not clear or fight the best in the 140 and also the 147 divsions he seem to skip that and the only really rembered name is Oscar when were looking back at his career 20 years from now. I do not think Floyde Mayweather while be rated as high as some may think he is when history looks back on him. I think he is somewhere in the top 25 or the top 35 but thats just me. He is still young and in prime still think he can make his career even better then it is now but it is up to him what he will do.

Ya see....Thats how I feel as well in regards to why some are creaming them selves with "what ifs" and stating in absolute certainy that its pretty much a sure thing win for Mayweather.....While he's retired :-X;D
Tony will not have to aim for and connect on Floyds head to effect him down the stretch. He would do better to aim for just about everything else Imo.

Margarito tends to throw wider punches when he can't catch his opponent, He was able to keep COtto on the ropes thats why he was throwing tighter punches.
Also about the accuracy, Cotto did land alot, and he hits harder then Mayweather, but Judah hit harder then MAyweather, and he landed them on Baldomir, but Baldomir was more effected by MAyweather's punches then by Judah's because 1. MAyweather drives through with his punches so it doesn't matter if it hurts you or not, it will stop you in your tracks, but also 2. Floyd isn't there to be hit. Why did Duran take way more shots in the fight against Leonard then in the second fight, yet he quit in the second fight? Because Leonard was frustrating Duran in the second fight because he wasn't there to be hit. Margarito was the same way against Williams, until Williams got tired, but Floyd doesn't get tired, because he is always in terrific shape, and he knows how to take "Breaks" in the mist of fighting.
Re: Margarito vs. Mayweather
Also Hatton throws short punches, Gatti throws technically correct punches, Corrales throws good tight punches, N'dou had a lot more speed then Margarito, even Judah was only able to land one left hand at a time, when Judah threw combinations against Mayweather they almost always missed. OScar is another example of a tall guy who has handspeed to burn, and sharper punches then Margarito, and he still landed nothing. Same with Hatton. All these guys have tighter punches then Margarito, all of them are more accurate, yet none of them could land with Mayweather especially, when Floyd was on the ropes.
Re: Margarito vs. Mayweather
Tall Paul is the only one of the so called WW who could beat Floyd. Paul is the best WW in the division and nobody even seems to say his name. Floyd wont even think about it. Margo, enough said about him, he is trying to make as much money before he even thinks about Paul. This is a Travesty, Sham, and a Mockery of the sport. That's the way the cookie crumbles. Paul, they ICED U OUT. SORRY. Lets not fight the best must be the diet for todays fighters. Talk about other fighters ducking while U duck fighters. Floyd and Margo are LOSERS. Paul is the man
Re: Margarito vs. Mayweather
Margaritos strength is his strength, he is naturally bigger than most welters and just wears them down, when he fought at light middle he was beaten by Santos.
Cotto is a small welter and had on ly really fought other ex light welters, he does take a shot and Antonio got to him late.
Margarito does nothing special and Mayweather fought a bigger De La Hoya and managed fine, although I do think Margarito would give a better fight, it would be close but I dont see Mayweather not being able to cope with Margarito.
I dont liek Mayweather, he has picked and chosen "names" and has had his name passed down like a hand me down from fighters like Gatti and Judah and all the otehrs who were basicly just journey men but he does have enough to handle Margarito and again make it a boring unwatchable fight.
Margarito De La Hoya would be more of a spectacle
I f Margarito beat Williams in a rematch then that would make a Mayweather match interesting but even then I still see him being out foxed by Floyd, unless Floyd has that much time outa the ring that he gets a bit rusty.
Re: Margarito vs. Mayweather
mayweather probably never come out of retirement because theres not a fight that will give him what he wants and thats money so fighting tony is out he will get more money for fighting cotto anyway who knows maybe if berto is still doing what hes doing now he can give floyd a run for his money

Mayweather had all the dollar signs he could hope for with that Farce rematch vs. Delahoya on deck.....Imo, not a much in demand meeting to some fans but the main stream would have pumped that for all its worth into an productive event.
Berto has a lot to grow on but has not faced one legitimate top 10 fighter and is way to green/untested to cope with Mayweather in near future as well as now.
