Re: Have we heard yet what Guzman's penalty will be for his blatant unprofessionalism
I wonder if Nate could sue him for loss of earning or something along thoughs lines.
Its not like Guzman was even close to making the weight.Seem to happen a lot in the last few years where fighters miss there weight.
Re: Have we heard yet what Guzman's penalty will be for his blatant unprofessionalism
Hardly see how this was blatant at all.
If it was he would not of gone into hospital suffering from dehydration...
I highly doubt they would of not trained right, or fucked about - this is joans biggest fight to date. Must of been a simple fuck up somewhere.
Re: Have we heard yet what Guzman's penalty will be for his blatant unprofessionalism
The thing is they offered him the fight with him weighing over, and he still declined. Shitty trainer? Mayweather maybe doesnt bother with the conditioning with Guzman? There is no good reason for pulling out he had plenty of time to train.

The way I see it is if you mind the scales throughout camp it's never a problem. He is known for not listening to his team... Not making weight hosital or not is not an excuse. He would have known about this 3 weeks ago.

If amateur boxers in my local gym can make weight while going to school or holding down a job then there is no excuse for a top pro boxer.
Guzmans been boxiing for a long time so he know the score about eating right and all that.

Exactly... Had he been on weight the whole way through camp(when I say on weight I don't mean the contract weight but the steady decline through camp) he would not have gone to the hospital, weighed in heavy or had the fight called off...
There is no excuse.

Never underestimate the combined power of ego and stupidity...this was no simple screw up. If he had trained properly, he never would have dehydrated himself to the point of need the hospital.

FACT!
Re: Have we heard yet what Guzman's penalty will be for his blatant unprofessionalism
...I don't like him anymore, i can't think of a worse penalty than that.
Re: Have we heard yet what Guzman's penalty will be for his blatant unprofessionalism
You'd have thought Mayweather Sr would have been monitoring his weight alot closer

What type of penalty will he incure.
I would have bought Marquez Casamayor if I had know this shit bum was gonna blow it for me...
If I were Campbell I wouldn't agree to fight him again until he'd made weight and fought 2 opponents. Training camp is a long time away from family and Guzman wasted his.
Re: Have we heard yet what Guzman's penalty will be for his blatant unprofessionalism
Dan Rafael of ESPN.COM just reported in his blog that
1) Guzman got off with a slap on the wrist of a small fine from Mississippi regulators
and
2) Campbell got paid nothing and will not get paid anything. His only remedy is to sue Guzman for breach of contract. (which could take years of litigation)

the thing is it doesn't matter what Mississippi would have done really. So they ban him from fighting there for a year, two years, so what, that just means he wouldn't be able to fight in Mississippi, who cares he could still fight in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, California, on and on. Its not like one commissions ruling applies to the other in a case like that. Its like the case where Louisiana suspended Allan Green for not showing up to fight on that ESPN2 card a few years ago, of course Allan Green didn't care, its not like he was planning on developing a following in Louisiana.
They could have fined him, I guess.
And I wouldn't be surprised if he was sued, I could be wrong but Castillo's financial problems mainly stem from the Corrales fights and the law suits after that.

Mmmmm, I guess you're right... Down right WRONG.
It's quite the shame, though.
