Skelton is a know fighter who has fought for a world belt(wba) which is a lot more than Bonin has.
The WBC is the most prestigious organization out there. And I'd rather have Bonin on my record than Skelton. Skelton is a joke.
They are also most corrupt and almost went bankrupt because of it.
Bonin also lost to Audley Harrison so he is not exactly a world beater is he.:p
Come back and say that when you watch the fight and stop reading the result off boxrec ;)
Re: David Haye Vs Matt Skelton???
It's in Haye's Setanta contract that he has to fight a top ten heavyweight this fight as ranked by the WBC/WBA/IBF/WBO. Are any of those guys seriously going to put Skelton in the top ten just to earn a sanctioning fee? It's not like they have a history of doing things like that in the past, is it?
:)

Dont quite get the point of that statement but my point is and I think every body who knows boxing whould agree.
If you lose to Audley you are not very good.

The point is simple. Watch the fight and then come back to me and say Bonin lost it, cuz he never. Boxrec say he lost. And the ones who have seen it disagree. Just go watch it :)

I think you have lost the point of the whole thread which is that Skelton while not idea would be a lot better opponent than most.
At least a win against him would proe somthing.;D

I'm not sure what your point is. His performance against Audley means nothing, he's a doorman who's never beaten a guy with a winning record, for all his limitations Skelton has faced good opposition including a creditable performance against the WBA champion.

Calling Skelton a doorman is a slur and not true at all. He's a removal man.
Although he might work doors at weekends I suppose. :)

He also gave a good acount of him self in his wba title fight which was a lot closer than most expected and his name is recognisable to boxing insiders.
Like i said Haye could fight a lot worse fighters than Skelton. At least with him we know what we are getting.
He wont fight Skelton, Warren offered him 600k to fight Skelton turned it donw because of his low ranking in world terms, also i cant see him working with Warren again.

To me that would make the most sense as the guy is quite well known considering he is a prospect and has been on HBO, and take into account that he was looking for an opponent in November, shoul be easy to be made.
Someone on here also said they have sparred a bit Haye and Arreola and Haye got the better of things?

I don't know of their sparring history, but Arreola will need to learn quick to keep his right hand up, that's the biggest flaw in his game IMO, Arreola is very sloppy, but his power is very real would be a great fight.
Re: David Haye Vs Matt Skelton???
Haye needs to fight a top Yank in the US or London to get the Wlad fight
Skelton would not help him

Way to dangerous for Haye at this early stage of his HW life.Same goes for Arreola as well.
Would be a great fight though IMO.
Re: David Haye Vs Matt Skelton???
It wont Happen, but Haye would stop Him early if it did 2 or 3 rounds Me thinks ;D
Re: David Haye Vs Matt Skelton???
Haye doesn't want to fight the Brit heavies (like Skelton) because if it all goes wrong he'll have them to fall back on ;)
