HBO Fight night:Berto/Forbes & Mosley/Mayorga

Round 1

Berto leads with jabs outright.Forbes backs into ropes and Berto looks to catch him.Both are posing up at ring center,flashing jabs and high shoulders up.Hard right from Berto over the top partially blocked and Forbes answers with one-two to the body.Nice combos from Forbes off Bertos leads,Forbes showing nice rolling defense early.Berto jumps in with jab,Forbes catches Berto abit and Berto answers with jolting uppercut causing Forbes to stutter step forward.Nice tactical opening round

Round 2

Matching more jabs,flurry from Berto pushes Forbes back.I think Forbes is walking back hoping for a trap right hand.Clinch inside and Forbes nods to Berto.Extended reaching from Berto with Jab....Forbes throws tight combos and Berto ties up.wide left from Forbes and Berto gets a little right hand happy...too much.Minor redness under Forbes left eye.No blow out here.

I think Forbes got it again. Berto is a bit over-eager.

2-0 Forbes

Forbes causing Berto problems as I expected.

Berto is an average boxer with great natural strength imo.

He's like a welterweight Lacy with quicker hands.

I got a feeling Forbes could be on the wrong end of another robbing tonight

Berto's activity took the round for me. Forbes barely threw anything.

2-1 Forbes

Round 3

Berto "acknowledges" he lost last round to corner ?Forbes jab finds a home.strong return jab from Berto...on his toes.wide left hand backs Forbes up.Double jab from Forbes,strong combo return from Berto ending with left hook to the body.Forbes sitting more inside in spots,Berto more entergized and launching right hands off stiff jab.Much more clinching as they finish punches.

I got Forbes up 2-1 as well.

Round 4

Berto paying too much attention to ref in between round.Ref rules a nick on Forbes caused by headbutt.Berto rushes in with high shoulder,very physical and intent on making a statement.Needs to just relax a bit and is now yelping as he unleashes on Forbes.Bllod from Forbes,nice left from Forbes to body.Stiff jab has Forbes cheek all mucked up.Very animated ,ends round with a triple left combo,one in the gut

Berto with an uppercut on the inside. Nice body shots by Berto. Berto's speed is sick but is also acting a bit cocky.

Forbes is blocking and slipping most of Berto's punches but he's not throwing any to win the round.

2-2

Round 5

Forbes out with more pressure at first off jab.Lots of wrestling and Berto yelling and whooping....he needs to tighten up Imo.Left to body from Forbes,Berto clinching inside alot this round.Forbes working on the inside misses straight right hand.Right hand followed by uppercut from Berto inside.

Forbes with a sneaky left hook to the body. Berto's combos are flashy! I think Berto's punches are more effective than Forbes.

3-2 Berto

This has been a good little scrap so far.

Berto landing 2 solid shots coming off a clinch. Berto's handspeed is sick! Forbes is throwing 1 - 2 punches at a time and Berto is throwing 3-4.

Forbes looks like he slowed down a bit from the first two rounds. I wonder if Berto can keep this pace up the rest of the fight.

This is a pretty action packed fight...considering the match-up that is..

Berto 4-2

Round 6

Berto posing and timing Forbes at rounds beginning.3 punch combo from Forbes,backs off.Berto skoots in with shoulder roll and is shooting jab in spots.Forbes is at this point here,bulling in and landing some to the body.Berto is clinching,Forbes hits him in the kidney almost.Berto going for the homerun shot at rounds,Forbes stubborn as all heck.Tough.

That's how I have it. Berto looks so much bigger and Forbes is getting tired just in the clinches; which Berto seems to instigate.

Surprisingly subdued crowd; would have thought they'd have been louder.
