What about the sport of boxing makes you a fan?

Then come the end in the 11th round and i thought to myself, wow what a sport this is one of the most exciting things i've ever seen. And thats how i got hooked on it, i come from a boxing family and i heard my grandfather and etc. Talking about boxing all the time but i never really took any notice until i see that fight, then i would get my grandfather to tell me stories of his boxing days. Then i learned his brother had KO'ed an olympic gold medalist Terry Spinks.

Which was amazing to hear and it gave me alot of dedication, but for me i love the amount of competition, skill, will, heart, desire, when a guy gives it his all aka Evander Holyfield vs Riddick Bowe 1, it just gives me a warm feeling inside and gives me so much dedication. Before a fight i watch a fight like that early in the day and it gives me the boost i need, some people say im crazy for being an Amateur boxer. But i can't help it i love the sport and i will be watching it until i die, and when i have my kid soon i learn him everything i know.

I guess like many have posted. It was Teddy Atlas said the only sport were you can't call a timeout and have a substitue come in for you. Also it is the simplest of sports to understand knock the other silly.

I've been a great boxing fan from when i was a youngster(about 6-7year old)I started taking up boxing as a amateur at me local gym when i was 10 or 11.Im just a great fan of boxing now and will be till the end of time!
what i love about the boxing game is that it's a total art form in its own right.I mean the sweet science of it all is just fantantic:Dphysical and mental skills are always both applied in each round of each fight!It's how all settlements should be sorted out!!!

It does have a feel of tightly knit comradliness among us the fans and so much individuality as the fighters go inside the ring.

Actually Vinny Pazienza was also integral in my growing love for the sport as a chil as I used to go watch him fight all the time as a kid... It did start with Hagler Hearns a few years after it happened though... I was mezmorized as a child that a sport like this was "allowed";D

Boxing skills with Don Curry who he was efficient and flawless, Roy Jones athleticism, Tyson's power, Israel Vasquez heart, Herol Graham defence, Hearns devastation, rivalry of MAB v Morales........

Simple reason is that I don't have the skill to play any other sport like basketball, football, tennis etc. I’m always outcast on those sports. Boxing was introduced to me during the Ali-Frazier era. I was amaze to see two people hurting each other and they are not afraid to get hit in the face and body. As my interest in boxing growing, I discover many things about it. Boxing helps me exercise in confronting my fears during my childhood. School bullies are very common during those times and I was once being pick on for fun. I manage to defend myself and retaliate back and they never try to make fun of me again. But my dream to become a boxer never came to fruition due to lack of time and courage.. hehehe.. ;D

Especially when Ruiz or Hatton fight. Still it's nowhere near as homoerotic as MMA. Even the name - MMA:Male-Male Action, and lots of man on man BJJ.
