Probably the fight between Pat Cowdell and Azumah Nelson. Knew little about Nelson as I was only about 12, but Cowdell was from just up the road from me so I supported him. Cowdell was a very good boxer, but he fought a legend of the division that night, and a freakish puncher. It was memorable because it made me realise that no matter how much I supported somebody, it made no difference to the result.
Warching the lights go out of Wilfred Benitez eyes when he got KO'd by Matthew Hilton is etched in my mind, unfortunately.:(
One that hasnt been mentioned
Hopkins Trinidad
Bernards mamma wouldnt have bet on him to win that fight he was such an underdog for some reason going in.
Just watching him think about what he had just done after he won,was awesome, you could see it in his eyes, that even he was shocked

Practically ANY fight of the year I'll never forget... Or any major upset.
Yes, that one works for me too. A very Interesting fight, it wasn't the most action packed, but it was filled with tension, for me anyways. I kept waiting for the moment when Trinidad would start unloading his bombs, but it never happened. Completely and totally outfoxed by the "bad guy" Hopkins.
