Re: Yusaf Mack 2 vs Berrio Feb 6th on ESPN2
Shuan George is definitely the fight to make imo, let's see if George can do what he did to Byrd to a live opponent like Mack.
George looked slick against Byrd, but Chris was awful and I felt George should have finished the fight sooner by KO, I don;t think he'll have the power to trouble Mack like Andrade did, and Henry potentially could have.
I'd never heard of Mack before the Andrade fight but he certainly boxed well until Andrade's power caught up with him and even managed to floor the iron chinned one so I think he has to be respected.
If his chin and stamina holds up I can see him giving anyone problems and George judging by his record is something of a powder puff so I'd fancy Mack to outpoint him over the 12 rounds.
Plus Mack is the closest we have to Saddo professional boxer so I will support him to get one step closer to a title shot.

I don't think Minto could get down to 175, nor do I believe he has any desire to come down from the HW div.

As broke as the Butler/New Castle area is,except for the 2 weeks of Pennsic,go hit the Save-A-Lot in New Castle, that stuff tastes so bad you couldnt help but lose weight;D
He's been down there before,he can do it again, and not alot of guys are falling over themselves to book him right now,so he's got financial incentive.

Admittably not as a Pro,Ill grant you that, but he's undersized at heavyweight,by alot,Mack is actually a better fight then he's going to see at heavy, and the rumor(I know rumor does not equal truth)is that he is trying to drop in weight.
And he'd best consider it,because nobody knows if the new management for the Mountaineer Track in Chester is going to let us keep having shows there. So far the word is,they arent too keen on boxing.
Wont know until I know for sure, but initial reports are not very good.

I dont know if his trainer thinks he can still make it,but I know he's made it before,it'd probably be his best bet to get a good money fight right now.
Pittsburgh is totally in flux right now,J in Wheeling pays half in tickets,Charleston is allways just a club fight,Brushfork is a roll of the dice most of the time, and I really dont like the Beckley site, they mainly just use it for Toughmans.Maybe he could find something in Erie or in Ohio, but the pickings are slim
If he thinks he can make it,he's got half a year,Id go for it

This is just strange to me, and I may be remembering this incorrect, but there was an interview with Minto a few years back where his weight went just under 200 and he said that he felt it in an unhealthy way, he said that it was from a diet he was on and he didn't want to get that low again saying his target weight was 215. Again I may be mistaken here, but I don't think Minto has any interest in coming down in weight, nor do I think he has the ability.

If he doesnt want to come down take the other guy,but Minto's fights are dwindling unless he wants to travel, which he usually doesnt,or he just wants a rematch with Jeremy in Wheeling.
Because losing the Mountaineer is a killer for this area, because that and Heinz are our money places.
Half the reason Im doing matchmaking is because the money is better,I spend the day convincing two fighters to travel, and I get a check.
Things are really tight in boxing right now,I know one guy who used to be big, whose only doing MMA now,I found out another is quiting entirely. If you dont like to travel, and Minto really doesnt, your in serious dutch.
Its reached the point,Im sending one of my fighters to Trinidad for a fight, for moderate money.

Well that's too bad about the Mountaineer, I have a feeling you'll be seeing a lot more things like that with the economy in the state it's in. As far as Minto / Mack goes it really seems like a square peg, round hole situation.
Mack should be looking to George/Cloud and as VD said Garay guys that are established in his division that are knocking on the door of being at the top of the division just like Mack. With the ESPN2 exposure Mack's been getting and having as good of performances as he has, these fights shouldn't be that difficult to make happen.
Re: Yusaf Mack 2 vs Berrio Feb 6th on ESPN2
this is greatness, pure greatness, this forum is in its prime ;D
Re: Yusaf Mack 2 vs Berrio Feb 6th on ESPN2
You're trying to tell Mack's manager to match him up with Brian Minto? ahahahahahah
Maaaaaaaan, nuts, absolutely nuts.

Im hoping the Mountaineer rumour is bogus, but considering who I got it from,S A,Im betting its on the money. We lose Heinz and you wont be seeing a big money fight around here for quite awhile.
Re: Yusaf Mack 2 vs Berrio Feb 6th on ESPN2
Heinz ketchup?
It all makes so much sense. Heinz ketchup goes out, Minto has to fight Mack, it's his only choice.
