The Thrilla in Manila - Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier III live at the Araneta Coliseum, in Cubao, Quezon City
( it was a misnomer, it was not held in Manila, but Manila being more well known...)
Many on live satellite feed like - Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Holmes, Leonard, Hagler, Duran, Hearns, Mancini, Little Red Lopez, Arguello...etc,
but the best would be Ali vs. Frazier I. First boxing match I ever saw, and got me hooked! Equally memorable, the Hagler vs Hearns fight.

Yeah, it was quite unforgettable; especially I, being a ” Cassius Clay" fan, felt distraught when he took a tremendous beating in that fight. I cannot recall, but I might have shed a tear for him, being young and all, as I watched the fight from our 13-inch, black and white, Zenith “tube” television, with those skinny legs.
Here was I, just a kid who idolized "Cassius Clay"; an infatuation built around stories eavesdropped from conversations and arguments, of Uncle's with neighbors and with friends. Youngsters were not allowed to participate in such adult conversations. This was 1971, what can I say.
You must imagine it was in an era where everyday life is a lot slower, and the big money fights like the “Fight of the Century” was on everybody’s plate with the magnitude of front page news. To finally see him get beat up and lose, and the aftermath being, defending in school, picking Ali over Joe Frazier when clearly, the later was the overwhelming favorite*.
However, more memorable for me of course, was seeing the “Thrilla in Manila” in the caged, and sweltering atmosphere of the nose-bleed section of the Araneta Dome!
*Ali was inactive for a while there for 3 years, accused of dodging the draft, and stripped of his boxing license, for religious reasons. He opened the door for a fan build-up towards Joe Frazier.

Benn vs McLellan & Hearns vs Hagler on tv, But live at the venue it has to be Hatton vs Kostya, the atmosphere was electric & pulsing, something Ill never forget,
Also Joe Calzaghe's master class against Jeff Lacy .... that was something else too, & believe it or not I got lucky enough to be ringside for those two fights ... two cracking nights at the M E N in Manchester for me they was...

Re: all time personal greatest fight watched live
Naz vs Kevin Kelley on 19th December 1997 it was pure edge of the seat stuff i ended up about 2inch off the tv i was well pleased when Naz won. Also Benn vs Eubank 1 i was only 9 and was at school next day so i couldn't watch it so pretended i had been sick so my mum would let me come down for a bit from that night on i was a Benn and Eubank fan.
But ive watched and loved loads and loads of fights but i say the Naz one because of the excitement as a big Naz fan i thought SHIT! were in trouble now. But he came back and got the job done i miss that little guy.
