I've been using a different kind swivel myself, it's similar to this:

The fish-eye bolt is connected to a ball which adds a lot more dimension to the speed bag's movement. You could say that
it turns that lovable speed ball that you could hit forever and as long as you liked into "Huevo de Diablo." :cooldevil:
Trust me, after you after you install that baby you'll practically have to learn how to hit the speed bag all over again. ;)
I think that Yvonne is right that the swivel has little to do with what part of the bag contacts the board. On a fully inflated bag it should not matter if the bag hits on the seam between two panels. That happens hundreds of times in a normal workout and should not really influence the rebound negatively.
And Von Milash is correct that this chainlink swivel can influence the rebound of the bag, but I find it happens much more when punching from all sides around the bag. When punching mostly from the front area of the bag, like most boxers do, I don’t think it will influence the rebound arc too much. However, I like his modification. I have modified swivels several times, but have never seen the one he made.
Chris Nagel, here is a video of that particular "Boxing Gear" ballhook swivel “Huevo de Diablo." . That’s a good one..
