Where were all those boxers when the big name was in his prime?
They were kids training to fight anyone, it's not their fault the old guy is hanging around, of course you would want the payday and beat a ten time champ.
That's right. I forgot to add that besides having a big name in their resume it also means a big payday. So far, the biggest paycheck Pac has received is fighting ODLH. The fans of whoever beats a Big Name that is passed his prime, old, worned out, drained, out of gas, etc. forget those facts even if the their boxer himself as well as his team acknowledged that the Big Name was an elder when they faced him.

Manny Pacquiao
Juan Manueal Marquez
Nate Campbell
Juan Diaz
Jorge Linares
Humberto Soto
Oscar Larios (yes i said Oscar Larios)
Marco Antonio Barrera
Michael Kitsidis
and probably even Joel Casamayor

Valero is on the promo stage of his career, so the headline grabbing statements attributed to him as stated are in character. He even mentioned that fact in an interview as to one of the reasons why he attended Pac's birthday. Promo tour, spread his namae out in the public's awareness. Do not read more into that.

"Oscar payoff denied!
Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer has denied a claim made on the air by HBO announcer Larry Merchant that Oscar De La Hoya was not in attendance at Saturday’s clash between Sugar Shane Mosley and Antonio Margarito because he was paid $5 million by a T-shirt company to instead attend an MMA event. Schaefer reportedly said Oscar “didn’t make a penny.” Merchant, who celebrates his 78th birthday on February 11th, recently re-upped with HBO for another two years."
