Re: Hatton/Floyd = F* what a boring fight...!
I didn't think it was that bad just Floyd knew how to win and did it!

I havn't read in all the post so far in this thread, anyone making excuses for Hatton losing.... I am peresonally tired of people hearing a subject, and automatically assuming the message or aguement people are trying to make.
Hatton lost,
in fact for a fair bit of the fight, the ref DID let him fight his way, and he went overboard, smothered his own work, and lost it for himself.. And I havn't see anyone else say anything to the contrary above..
I was simply pointing out the inconsitency of the ref in this particular fight, because this was the fight I watched last night... And NOT in the context that Hatton lost because of it... So i'm sorry if you're tired of that arguement, but no one is making it here..
Agreed. For much of the fight, Hatton had plenty of opportunity to fight his way, but like Taeth said, Mayweather just outclassed him on the inside, as badly as he outclassed him from the outside. Simple as.
Re: Hatton/Floyd = F* what a boring fight...!
Well,End of the day, like the Brits like to say,it really did`nt matter, because Ricky got his block knocked off.te;br

yea thats pretty much it. but it wasnt boring. floyd vs oscar was boring but the Hatton fight wasnt boring.
Re: Hatton/Floyd = F* what a boring fight...!
JT,
If you don't agree with me it's fine. No need to cross the line through neg reps. I was simply telling people that I don't like the current style of Mayweather.
Many would agree with me that they find him boring. It's simply a matter of opinion. I like boxers who brawl. Can you blame me for finding PBF boring?
Kingfrank,
Mayweather was rumored that he will be fighting in the MMA before. I was simply predicting. What's wrong with it?

Nobody made excuses in this thread for Hatton losing? Really?

Joe Fucktez deducted a point in the 6th (I'm pretty sure it was the 6th) and then Hatton lost it, simple as :D Ah well.

He had Coruptez make it a 2 against 1 match.
Sounds like excuses to me. I didn't know Cortez shoved Mayweather's fist into Hatton's mouth. I think that's where the KO came from.
Re: Hatton/Floyd = F* what a boring fight...!
I was shocked with the ref in the fight, you could even see old Popkins doing his nut ringside, but at the end of the day you could tell that Jnr had Rickys number after a few rounds and even with out the dodgy ref Floyd had to much for Ricky at that stage of his career, take it from me I was gutted, so many ifs and maybes. Respect to Floyd he can fight any style and for the hatton haters a little vid for you.

Mayweather is good but doesn't deserve to be called one of the greats.IMO.
Btw, he was telling people before the fight that he will fight Hatton all the way. :-X Most probably he means hugging and using his elbow.
I agree the style of PBF is boring...though I always like to remind people the idea is To be hit and not get hit....Though every now and again it is nice to see someone engage in a fight:-\....
That is why I was always such a James Toney fan...He could lay on the ropes wity that shoulder roll when he choose to but you knew the fireworks would come sooner or later on a counter.....
Floyd you know if it going to be a good performence or an snore fest all night while he waits for the points to rally
I agree. James Toney was a real man fighter. He had skill, offense, defense, not afraid to mix it up at all.
Also Mosely was not afraid to mix it up. Gotta love those two (and they had skill).

It's a type of fighting I can't stand!! Some of Floyd other fights were tactical genius and just a pleasure to watch him school opponents the way he did... But the tactic of dive and hug as soon as a fighter gets in range to punch, it's ugly and boring.. If you've got skill outside that reach zone of the other oppnent, you'll win fights that way.. But it's sad to watch..
And personally Floyd has to much game to let Pac win... Even if it took trying to potshot Pac on the outside, and hug him anytime he got close.. It's that sort of gritty arsenal that would ensure a Floyd win... Pac would try to be a warrior about it, but you can't hit someone who has both arms around you... And Floyd just has to many ways of not being hit, and getting under fighters skin, and coming out a point on top of too many rounds..
At least that's what i've garnished from the ugly as hell Hatton fight.. And if a ref doesn't warn or deduct points for constant ducking down and hugging repeatedly, you'll always get an ugly fight like that..
(And on a personal note that was debated to death earlier so I won't go into it again,,, whenever the fighters got close and Hatton had a chance at hitting, Cortez would jump the fuck in and literally rip Hatton's free punching hand away to seperate them... Whenever Floyd grabbed and Hatton had no chance, he'd let the hold go on.... He is a shit inconcistent referee i'll say that much)
I dont care about all this bollox anymore, just get that f'in nob head in the ring with hatton again, this time with kenny bailiss or however you spell it or that other 1 who refd pacman v oscar. i forget his name. I dont care what anybody says, hatton has the abilitly to put mayweather to sleep.

If Cortez is the ref for this fight as he was in the Hatton vs Mayweather then it will be another fooking frustrating fight as was the Hatton vs Mayweather fight.Cortez does not understand that boxers are allow to fight in the inside as long as there no fowl play!!!Hatton was'nt able to do what he does best because of Cortez!

Cortez aloud Hopkins to fight and grab on the inside against Calzaghe.
Re: Hatton/Floyd = F* what a boring fight...!
It was an annoying fight to watch. Hatton can fight a lot better than he did and Floyd did all he could to spoil for the first half a dozen rounds. Personally, I would have headbutted Floyd hard and low blowed him too. Anything to get a bit of respect. If the ref is going to be a bitch then you might as well do it proper.

The mood Cortez was in he would of dq'ed Hatton if he did do anything on purpose.I fought Hatton did ok in the first 5 rounds then he lost his composure and then Floyd took complete control.
