Re: Your favorite places to visit in North America (incl. Mexico)?
I'ld love to visit Seattle, USA. And one day I will.
I'm doing Route 66 in the summer. Chicago to Los Angeles. Gonna be fucking sweet. Hopefully I'll hook with Amat and VD.
I already been to NY and FL.

Indeed. Another US area that rivals it for beauty is Grand Teton in Wyoming
Re: Your favorite places to visit in North America (incl. Mexico)?
Arizona has some pretty amazing spots, The Grand Canyon and Sedona.
Re: Your favorite places to visit in North America (incl. Mexico)?
Big Sky Country Montana also is very nice. Throw in British Columbia and we've got the makings of a very nice little tour of western North America.

I've been thinking about doing the coast. The Ore. coast in particular. Where are Lincoln and Trinidad, and what are they like?

There you go you can hit up Seattle and Portland on the way if you want.
Lincoln City is a little touristy, but there are some cool restaurants and hotels. The area is absolutely beautiful though lots of cheap eats.
Last time I stayed there I stayed at
Lincoln City hotel - Looking Glass Inn Lincoln City Oregon hotel, motel Pretty amazing views and reasonably priced.
Trinidad is a sleepy art community, at least it used to be, haven't been there in ages.
That would be a sweet trip. I love Seattle, the Queen Anne area is arguably my favorite place to visit. As I've mentioned before, I didn't find Portland overly impressive, but I'm willing to give it another shot. The Crystal Ballroom was a great place to see a show. I saw Social Distortion there.
Re: Your favorite places to visit in North America (incl. Mexico)?
Last time I was in Seattle was 1979. At that time, coming down the I5, once you reach level with the Kingdome there is a massive sytem of overpasses crossing the highway. At that time the overpasses just stopped in midair due to budget constraints, and on the opposite side tehre is a system of terraces built up for the ramps, but it was all grown in.
Is it still like that?

I don't think so. I've been there a good half dozen times at least, and I've never noticed that. I could be wrong though.
Re: Your favorite places to visit in North America (incl. Mexico)?
Well it depends...
What are you up for?
Me personally I would recommend Baja.
The entire coast of Baja is paradise and nothing looks the same.
You've got party city Ensenada were all the college students party.
In Ensenada you HAVE to visit "La Bufadora" for those who don't know here's the run down:
La Bufadora is a marine geyser, or Blowhole located on the Punta Banda Peninsula in Baja California, Mexico. The spout of marine water (occurring every minute or so to varying degrees of height) is created when ocean waves and air are drawn into an underwater cave located in the cliffside, and the trapped air and water then explode upwards. This interaction not only creates the upward-shooting spout, but a thunderous noise as well.
La Bufadora is the second largest blowhole in the world, and can shoot upwards as high as 80 feet above sea level.
After you visit Ensenada you can cross over to San Felipe where it's still party but a bit more mature people a bit more lounge and relaxed.
Then you can just relax and forget it all when you land in Bahia de Los Angeles which is fucken amazing. You'll feel like you own the place and you can just run around and do as you wish it'll feel like your king of the land. Then you finish off your trip in Cabos San Lucas which is the place to be as far as Baja goes some of the best beaches in Mexico and a place that's full of places to see and things to do.
(As you can see I'm an ocean/beach person)

I've been to Ensenada twice. Both times we were doing community help projects etc. Beautiful place.
Re: Your favorite places to visit in North America (incl. Mexico)?
The problem with Baha is that you don't want to be there when the mother of all San Andreas earthquakes comes, cause the Baja will break off and sink into the Pacific. ;)

I for one don't think it'll just sink.
I actually think it'll sail like a iceberg and then settle in like an island. ;D

[quote=CFH;670878]For some reason, I'm thinking San Fransisco would be a cool place to visit [quote]
People in San Francisco complain when they have earthquakes, but it's their fault.
