Quit trying to play dumb here, in order to push your agenda.
How many threads now does this make where you are trying to tear De La Hoya down?
You're so transparent. :shakehead:
Well what can I say... I'm speechless...
Definitely, I'm not part of those group who BOOed Hoya... I wasn't there... ;)
But I think some of those who BOOed were fans of Hoya who felt betrayed and frustrated in his last fight... They might also have lost big bet money... Not throwing punches and quitting on his stool might have triggered those BOOs..
.
Re: Boos pummel De La Hoya
I'm sure Oscar will get over it. I've never liked him myself, but wouldn't waste my time booing him. He's a promoter now, and all promoters probably deserve a good bit of booing every now and then.
Re: Boos pummel De La Hoya
Maybe some of those who BOOed were diehard JC Chavez Sr. and Jr. nuthuggers... ;)
.
Re: Boos pummel De La Hoya
Most probably resent that he stepped into the ring with a smaller man, quit on the stool and it was all for the money when he knew he had nothing left. Although booing is a natural thing to do it's just not appropriate. Still I think the disappointed believers will eventually remember him for when he has brought to boxing.
Re: Boos pummel De La Hoya
I was there when the booing happened. It was mostly Hispanics who were doing the booing. They were also chanting "Pacquiao, Pacquiao!". They were calling him all sorts of names. I agree, it was sad to see that reaction from the crowd.

Oh yeah, you're not tryin to push an agenda at all
I swear down SB, you really are becoming the Bill O'Reilly of this place, just instead of the War on Terror & anti-Obama rhetoric, you've got constant Pacquiao threads & like Diane says all this anti-ODLH stuff.
Seriously man, this just adds to the list of stupid threads you've been making recently or commenting stupidly on. & all the people doing the booing, yeah they also are fuckin idiots, you don't like the guy fine, but booing him is simply pathetic. & to those who say that it won't matter to him ignore the fact that the guy does have some IMO major issues of insecurity, mostly linked to his mother's death & this will have an effect on him.

sad really, though i suspect it was more your part time boxing fan that felt the need to show off and boo.
Would urge all those who did boo to go home and download de la hoya vs quartey, whittaker, chavez etc and they`ll soon realise what idiots they made themselves look!!

DOnt give him sympathy. He is laughing all the way to the bank.
Money doesnt buy happiness bro. Alot of people hounding on your ass can hurt deeper when your a man of pride like his is.
Tyson deserved booing for biting. Margaritto will be booed and its excuseable but I dislike so many fight fans cause of their disrespect to other nations flags and warriors on the down hill.

Nothing he did in the ring makes him deserve to be booed, which was unfortunate. I agree though that being a promoter (especially one that proclaims himself a saviour) deserves some shit.
As time passes the respect will return when people have had time too truly reflect on all he sacrificed in then ring.

You've obviously never boxed.
I heard that the people booing were restaurant owners and chefs who were upset with Oscar and his team because Oscar didn't eat anything before fighting your crush.
Also if you're not trying to push an agenda why do you capitalize 'BOO' every time you write it?
Re: Boos pummel De La Hoya
A person can only dream to do 1/2 of what Oscar has done in the ring and for the sport. We all have our heroes, our fighters we admire and detest, but at the end of the day, how many get to see such pinnacles? Very, very few.
Hope I can get booed like that some day.

Those are horrible ways to think...thats material stuff.
Money & material stuff dont matter when you have it all.
Whats worth more to you 1Mil or your mother's love? Ps- dont answer that.
Was his mother booing him??? All I am saying is I dont think complete strangers booing Oscar is going to keep him up at night........The only reason they are booing him is because he is a successful multi millionaire........Dont tell me they are booing him because he gave up in the pac fight....It is not like he quit after the 2nd round.......
Re: Boos pummel De La Hoya
The Pacquiao beating is still fresh in everyone's mind. The boos will subside over time. Hell pretty much all the greats were boo'd at one time.

I don't think it's just because he quit. It's also because people put their faith in him and got let down (maybe some lost money too). If you recall, he could have gotten up off that stool and continued to get pummeled, but he decided to do a brainy thing and quit. I think that's what pisses those folks off. He could have continued but didn't. I also remember they booed Duran too. It could just be their thing....
