Khan is not ready for JMM. Juan Diaz would be perfect for him right at the moment. He's got a bad chin, and Diaz is not exactly a KO artist.

He beat an old barrera, yes i know was sitll an impressive victory but remember the top guys can cope with speed and will catch him sooner or later.

The rules are the rules and if a cut is caused by a headbutt then after four it should be a NC. This was a huge gash and there is no way Barrera could have got through 12. The same rules would apply to Khan. Of course, they would. If it was either fighter it should have ended sooner than that.Quote:

I understand where you are coming from in what you are saying, but rules should apply fairly to all. So, if Khan was nutted and then outboxed because of poor vision and then the fight stopped. Well, its just the way it goes. I would accept it, it would be annoying, but there you go.
Nobody wants the fight to be stoppedlike this was. I would have been content to see Barrera go out on his shield at least knowing he gave everything. If there was no cut and Khan won convincingly I would have no choice but to say well done. But this result has left a sour taste occuring the way it did.

It all happened so quickly, you just don't expect a head to be slashed open in the first couple of minutes. And I cannot imagine what it would have been like there if it had been called a NC after a round. Doesn't bear thinking about. Why not just put the bitterness aside and get behind young Amir? He's a smashing young lad, super talented, exciting to watch, willing to fight and has stepped up to the plate only months after being poleaxed inside a minute.
I don't know why people want him to fail so badly. He's one of the most well spoken, respectful fighters in boxing, never called anyone out, never trashed talked, never been disrespectful in victory or defeat.
When he lost he didn't hide away but was straight back in the gym the next day and facing the cameras and confronting the issues about his chin and potential.
I really really like the kid, I hope he goes on to do well for himself, he seems totally dedicated to his training and maximising his ability and is willing to take the risks needed to get to the top. He's still only 22 remember.

That makes me root for him more, he's like Frank Bruno or Nigel Benn, you know he's vulnurable but he's also got the potential to beat anybody and that makes him exciting to watch.
In 10 years or so time when he's almost ready to retire people will be looking back on him like he's a legend, like Benn, Eubank, Calzaghe, Hatton etc.
Why not get behind now whilst he's actually carving out a name for himself than wait another decade before you give him his dues?
Ultimately for me, in life it's not wheter you succeed or fail, but whether you are willing to have a go that makes you a great man/woman, and Amir is definitely willing to have a go.
Anyway I'm going to rinse my mouth now, got a load of Amir jizz and pubic hair in my throat :p

From the way Warren keeps talking about eliminators and being all about the WBO it honestly does sound like they will try to put him in with Marquez next!
Would Marquez take the Khan fight at this point? He does have bigger fish to fry. Or does Khan putting Barreras name on his resume make him just about a big enough fish for Marquez to consider? (sorry for the fish analogies)

To be honest I don't have any strong feelings about Amir Khan, either positive or negative. Living out the loop so to speak I have missed out on all the hype and the perceptions that people back home might have. In this case, my feelings were motivated by the fact that Barrera, one of my idols in boxing, was going over to the UK to face him. Of course, I'm a little dissapointed that it turned out the way it did. And it was a sour way for the fight to end.Quote:

Amir looked good, really sharp and I do give him credit for that. He hid his chin well. I don't think Barrera is shot by any means, so again that is a positive reflection on Khan. But it was only 5 rounds and Barrera was obviously bothered by the bleeding. Khan was always going to start fast, we all knew that. So for me there are still a lot of "what if's" about it all.
I'm not looking for Khan to fall, I don't have it in for him by any means. Against a different fighter I might even have wanted to support him. But it could never be that way against MAB.
